Default Brushless mod motor inside or outside

Group,

What is better for Brushless mod motor inside or outside?

Have not try yet, but what I notices:

Motor inside:
Pro:
the motor is protected on the inside.
can use any oem or similar canopy
COG is not move

Con:
when something break on the frame, you have to trash it and redo.like the canopy post.

Motor Outside:
Pro:
when something break on the frame just get new frame.
you do not have to modify frame or servo spacing.

Con:
COG is move, from looking at the picture, not sure.
the brushless motor is not protected
aftermarket canopy may not fit.

Please advise.

99% of the modders on this forum use motors on the 'inside'. COG is probably the biggest benefit. The motor is relatively heavy (10-15% of flying weight) and it helps to have it in the middle.
