That is almost a complete solution.

Add a programmable flight box specified by GPS coordinates that a heli is not allowed to fly outside of and it would be complete.

what I don't get, is how it will work when the heli is inverted, won't it detect the blades instead of the ground and then flip itself upright?

nice.. but you gotta have the co pilot.. which means another box and more sensors on the aircraft. where are all these items going to go on a modern 3d heli?

not much room even for 1 FBL sensor..

and on top of that how is this going to get along with FBLs? wont the sensors fight each other?

BS until I see it
If it really works well, then we can expect heli kit prices to skyrocket.

I do it all the time ..I don't have any issues, and CPII works with most non stablizied FBL units using a separate Rx

and who uses external RXs anymore?

that defeats the purpose of having sats...
again
there is barely room on helis like the Goblin or Fusion for 1 unit let alone an FBL.. an RX.. A CP2.. etc..

And that also leaves anyone that owns a Vbar, TotalG, 3GX, SKs and uses sats out in the cold..
doesnt sound very well thought out to me..

I had the choice like everyone to go with a Rx or Sat setup.. guess what... if this keeps your machine in the air instead of eating dirt I think I can live with the setup

No one is putting a gun to your head, if it is not for you .. so be it...
But before you try bashing the unit, might try thinking about how much effort it takes and took to develop a system to recover a falling helicopter back up to safety.

Awesome! Now we won't be able to crash into the earth...

Uhhh... what happens when it's time to land though? "Hard deck altitude detected... Initiating emergency procedure..."

My 450 still has a flybar
AND it still has an RX lol.
The 600pro is FBL...and still has a full rx too.

I'll probably always have an RX on my helis though. Some of the places I end up flying aren't very RF friendly and signal diversity is your friend.

This added unit from Revo looks like it could be pretty sweet for folks learning...but if it ever got to the point of uncrashability I'm not sure if it would be all that fun to me anymore. Part of the rush of rc helis to me is the risk. I'm sure there's probably two sides of that coin and I don't blame folks who want and uncrashable heli.

That said....like everything else in the tech industry: Pics or It Didn't Happen

not halving to waist money because you screwed up would be great.. i have not screwed up in a long time but some day i will and ill be pissed that i halve to fork out a few hundred bucks.

last time i crashed was due to a motor pinion slipping. i doubt the unit could have saved that from crashing..

If it worked with the V-Bar I would defiantly consider putting that on my XXtreme. I don't have space issues with it

Would be a nice way to push yourself (At least for us old guys) while taking SOME of the fear factor out.
