Carbon Frame Main Shaft install 500SE

I started with the 15mm bushing then 0.2mm shim, belt pulley, then light pressure to tighten top collar then 0.2mm shim, main gear, now I'm not sure whats next.

1: I've tried the C clip, but have to use some force the install third bearing block, seems like alot to put on the 3rd bearing. And main gear has some vertical play.

2: Also tried just a 0.2mm shim, no c clip and third bearing installs just right, and no vertical play in main gear.

Or should I just install third bearing block with no shim or c-clip, and have some vertical play so there's some space for maingear to float freely and no pressure on 3rd bearing. I have minimal backlash w/pinion at it's tightest point on main gear.

Seems logical to have some vertical play in main gear as I think it might be easier on the oneway? Let me know whats worked well for you, please.

These are the recommended shims from the manual. And work fine, but there's nothing in manual after main gear. It's my first Logo build so any help would be appreciated.
