I always run the WR super mini 10A with them, I have 3 and never had a problem. Some like Gryphon I think. Just dont get the Castle one.

Just got my new LiPos (pulse 35C) and did two test flights.

Pretty mych 'normal' settings (mid timing, 8khz)... This Scorpion motor has balls, I just logged a 1135 Watt spike. Just popped the 17T pinion in, lets see how it does at 2250.

Wow, over 1,000 Watts!!

If you liked it on 16T, you're going to love 17T.

Mine did a power loss again in piro flips.... I am guessing its the servos... Cause then it came right back.... It like list power right in the middle of the manuever and came back up slowly.

What do y'all think.. Started after 17t was done

Just stepped inside after my first flight with the 17t. I installed it last night and I gotta say its the ballz now. What a blast.

This Scorpion motor is a beast, it just pulls and pulls and doesn't skip a beat. Tested it with 17T, I was expecting some bogging considering the change in gear ration (as compared to 16T) but there was none. This motor just pulls and pulls, be careful!

Getting averages of around 800W during speed runs and regularly spiking to over 1000, hit 1350 today! That's a lot for this little heli. ESC is running in the 130-140F range, which is a relatively cool.

This one was mostly speed runs.

1350?! That's nearly 2hp! I may need to experiment with this motor...
I will need a new speedy though, 60A at least...

Holy crap, Igor!

How much collective pitch do you have set? I'm only 12.5 degrees.

Also if you don't mind, what is your pwm and motor timing set at?

Collective is at +- 13, PWM is 8 khz and timing is mid (5).

I have yet to pull a log from today, but I'm back to a 17T on the Scorpion, but I raised the HS to 3,200 RPM. During a hard 3D flight, I completely drained a 1300mAh pack in less than 3min 30sec.

My timer is set for 3:30, but the heli went into LVC just prior to that while I was coming in for a landing. While the higher HS was nice, I'll probably bump it down to 3,100, which is where I had it before and liked it A LOT!

Pull those logs! I'm curious to see how many watts you peaked at.

I am loving the 17T pinion, I've got 2700, 3000 and 3250 governed, though I usually fly at 3000. The higher HS is for speed runs or really windy days.

This thing hauls some serious ass! Perfect platform for a 450 speed heli... only needs a few small modifications.

The log is on my wife's computer, and she's on it right now. But here it is, my highest, still not as high as yours though.

43.2A
963W.

I think rayguns higher power draw may partly be attributed to his mid timing vs our low. That and he's got to be flying the snot out of it!

I tried Mid timing a few weeks ago. I didn't care for how it felt though. I've lowered my HS to 3,100 RPM in Castle Link just today, and set the timing at 2......going to see how that feels.

Running the Scorpion motor with 17T pinion and low timing. Set RPM at 2660, 2880, and 3250.
