It's a completely different kind of flying, and I will say it's no less challenging than flying a heli-- just different. The 3D guys and the jet guys are both pretty skilled IMO.

Mad skills! However, watching planes doing 3D is so tame/boring comparing to heli.

I am in the midst of learning both. Both have there challenges. Planks seem easier to fly around in circles and invert. But once you get one going fast you can loose your orientation just as easy. Hovering a heli is easier then high alpha with a plank . Doing spins and rolls in a high alpha is much harder then it looks. Add in the crazy spin rates of some of these planes and it becomes as much of a challenge as 3D heli flight. I give respect to both disciplines.
