Default 3GX Not 'initialized'

I have been through the setup numerous times and everything looks good until I actually power down/power up. It then contorts the swash way out of position. I can still move everything with the sticks but it won't level back out. In 'DIR' mode, everything works fine and when you come out of that mode, it's still OK after the reset. It seems to be the power cycle that screws it up. There's a pic. of the screen below and the command numbers correlate to the messed up swash. I took a video but it won't email from my phone. Any ideas what I can do... aside from buying a BeastX like my other helis have??

Thanks,
Jim

Have you tried a model reset and started afresh on your Tx?

What radio are you using?
Are you using a full rx?

So I hit this exact problem way back. Would go through setup and it would seem fine. Power off, power on normally, and it would contort the swash, all messed up.

I discovered this can happen if the 3gx powers on, and initializes before your RX starts outputting signal. In my case it was a walkers RX that took a few seconds to bind, and programming in a "coded" bind fixed the problem for me, as the RX would than bind instantly.

What RX/tx?

It's a Spektrum AR8000 Rx and I'm using an old Dx7 Tx. It is a new model programmed into the Transmitter. I'll have to pay attention to when the lights on the rx and satellite turn on as compared to the 3GX.
Thanks for the input.

Thanks guys. It was the 3GX powering before the Rx that was causing the problem. Not sure how I'm going to fix this yet but at least I know what it is.
Thanks again everyone,
Jim

That's wired because I have a AR8000 on my 500 with the 3GX. I have a DX7s & I'm running at 22ms. Is yours a DX7 or a DX7s?

It's an older Dx7. I am using a Castle BEC Pro with one output on the Rx and the other on the 3GX. I may swap the outputs around to see if it makes a difference.

what version firmware is the 3gx? the newest is 3.1 and since 3.0 landed the 3gx takes a bit longer to initialize. if your on an earlier firmware this may help and if you are i would recommend going to the newest version.

also on occasion my 3gx will initialize and one of my servos will go to its limit on the throw but once the unit does the 3 swash movements its fine and everything is normal. another thing ive read is to make sure when binding to have the tx a good distance from the heli.

goood luck

According to the configuration software, I think this is version 2.0. That seems like it should be easy enough to try? As long as this unit can run the newest firmware. I'll have to look that up.
Thanks.

Upgraded to 3.0 and it definitely initializes slower. Still having the same problem though. I may try a different Rx?

Update:
I added a switch to the 3GX power so the Rx could be powered up first and everything works fine. I flew it a couple of times on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised at how well the 3GX worked. Maybe I'll just throw a couple of satellites on the 3GX and be done with it.
Thanks for all the input.
