Btw, those that are ordering parts directly from Germany know what benefit you get with every shipment. Fresh new pages from some local German newspaper

The new TDR-2 is also a 700-800 heli out of the box

But there's no law forcing stores in your own country to stock those parts.

Exactly, not a big worry here folks. Mikado still had Logo 20 and Bionic parts for pete sakes up till recent. And we are talking about helis from 10 years ago when electric was just some fad fandangle according to masses.

Hey Shawn!

Nice to see you pop in for a visit. Glad you didn't completely pull the plug like Finless.

I (and many others) are getting ready for the plastic frame Logo 700 that will finally be here next spring.

Hope you are planning to join the party!

Speaking of Finless, what happened to him??? I really loved his videos. I wish he would come back from wherever he is and get back into this hobby again. With modern video cameras, he could make incredible heli build videos or FBL controller setup vids or tuning vids or whatever. Hell, I'd pay for it too. Just imagine Finless doing a Logo 600SX v2 + Neo build & config video in 1080p or higher

IIRC, he's writing apps for tablets. I could be wrong though but it was something like that. There's a thread somewhere about it.

He did do some great vids and I built my first Logo in 2009 using his vid.

I'm puzzled by the 480 extreme attempt. The 400 se i fly is as good as it gets. Sure some of it is not a current design, but had they kept everything the same, put a one way on it and the head they used on the 480, the product would have been superior to the 480. Essentially what they are doing now.

Also I don't think the 400se needs a one way. It's a nice to have, and I think that a modern heli would have trouble selling without it, because most would name it as a detriment. But I have hundreds of happy flights on my 400 without the need to auto.

The head on the 400 is high and I wish it was lower. Apperantly the 480 head is bolt on.

Anyway, the same motor is supplied with the 480 as my se, and mine runs on the small mod gears. It's so quiet and efficient is astonishing. I fly it for 7 minutes on 3300s of pretty hard 3d. And I fly it with a 50 am esc. Very efficient light bird.

It's not about needing to auto. It's about wanting to auto. Most of us do autos for fun and excitement, not because our helis fail constantly.

Parts support will be around for ages, even if parts orders take a little more time

I had no end of vibration issues with with my 400se. The 480xx is a much better design.

I would argue it being a "much better design." If you had vibrations that bad there had to be a source. For me it's unbelievable how little this thing vibrates.

Well I spent several months trying to solve the issue and replaced most of the rotating parts in the helicopter. It is a well known problem and general advice is to use a full size Vbar instead of a Blueline. At low head speeds mine was fine, but there was a resonance band towards the end of spool up. I had to get the head speed up to about 2600rpm to break out of the resonance band. I was fine for about 6 months until my batteries became tired and the head speed started dropping into the resonance band half way into the flight. It would result in an aileron drift to right. At that point I retired the heli and the 480XX came out. No such issues. A much smoother drive train

There is no question that the 480xx has a much more robust drive train, I use to hate having to mesh the tail gear with the main gear on the 400se.

Flight performance wise they are pretty similar like; flight times, roll rate etc.
But the 480 in general is just a much more robust design.

For example I crashed the 400se a few times nothing major and I couldn't get it to fly the same again something wasn't running right anymore could have been frame warp or something, but I crash the 480xx a number of times and once I nearly totalled the frame, after the rebuild it was still running smoothly.

That is called PROGRESSIVE DESIGN
