Default Want to stretch Trex 500e to use 500mm blades

I have two Trex 500 helicopters. One is a flybarred and the other is (still in the box) Pro DFC. I'd like to stretch the flybarred 500 so that I can run 500mm blades. Is there a way to do this and if so, how?

If all goes well with the flybarred 500, I'd like to stretch the Pro DFC, as well.

My flybarred 500 is very much stock...500mx 1600 kv motor and all...GP780 Heading Hold Gyro, belt tail drive.

I imagine lengthening the tail boom would be easy...just buy a new carbon fiber tube that has the same inner and outer diameter as the stock boom, then I can use my mill to slot the tube where it goes into the tail boom case. No problem there. however, I wouldn't know how long to make the longer boom. Then there is the problem of needing a longer tail belt. New tail boom supports would probably be easy to do, too...it's just the belt that seems to be an issue.

Any ideas? I'd really appreciate the help!!!

I was talking to a guy from Youtube and he was telling me that he knows for a fact that an "Align Trex 500 Stretch Kit" is in the works. I hope that's true.

I'd just like to bring this back to the top for another view.

Can anyone give some advice on this?

I did find some other info on another forum about belt drive tails....which is what I have on my 500 ESP. I found an article about a guy that replaced the stock Align belt (541 tooth belt) with a 648 tooth belt. I haven't gotten any replies from him about where he got that new belt. I wouldn't even know where to look.

Nonetheless, I appreciate the link that you provided above!

I've seen posted a link to an online shop that makes custom belts, but I can't remember the link. If you contact HF members Luvmyhelis, Helihaven, or Nightflyr, they could probably tell you.
