Default Strange Tail Behavior

I am having some issues getting consistent tail performance. I am running a 3s mini protos stock esc and motor with savox cyclic servos and a ds95i tail servo. This is the first brain i have setup but i am pretty sure i am doing everything correctly. The first 5 to 7 flights everything worked perfectly. I was using a savox tail servo at the time and the gain was around 70 on my dx8. The the tail started acting like there was not enough gain and would not hold and felt soft. I went through the tail and made sure all the bearings were good and that nothing was binding. I also put the ds95i servo on to rule out a bad servo. After testing the new servo i had to increase the gain to 96 to get the tail to hold properly. It flew fine this way for 2 flights and now it is acting up again. The tail blew out during a backflip, i lost orientation and crashed. Luckily it was in tall grass and it looks like only the boom is bent! Any ideas what could be going on? Is it possible to the gain to be resetting itself in the brain? I know that the set in software box was not checked during tail setup. Thanks for the help

I am having very similar problems and I think it it binding also check your tail blade grip bearings. They seem to wear out very fast.
