I had a great day with my Protos. 11 batteries through it..... Im all over it like a rash after a looooong rebuild.
It really is a quality machine. Im trying to find something going wrong with it... Something loosening, something wearing.... But I can't. Just whack yet another battery in and away you go.
Time to hit the ol idle up switch again tomorrow....

Spent 3 packs practicing backwards circuits and lazy 8's, bounced the auto at the end of the 3rd pack and the tail servo broke its mounting brackets, first time I have seen that. I think I might get the alloy ones to replace them, but not for the bling, just so I can reduce the tail weight I have on the heli at the moment.

Had my first crash, gust of wind, 35+ mph wind blew it towards a tree went through the leaves, took out the tail blades, I was somewhat able to maneuver it over a soft crash spot, hit throttle hold and watched her fall,
From what I can tell main and tail blades are the only damage, tail boom looks straight and true, nothing at all looks broke besides the above?
Maybe a feathering shaft, I love this heli so far, I'm gonna put new blades on her, and see if anything else is broken when I spool up.

I just found out from my local police department that they have my stolen Protos in the evidence lockup and I can go collect it tomorrow

Awesome. The Protos shall be returning home! Let us know what condition it's in when you pick it up.

Met up with some local guys yesterday and flew all day long. Was my first time flying with other people.. Had a great time with my 12 new heli friends!! Another guy showed up with a stretched Protos. Even got my Protos tached. 2940rpms at 85% throttle. They told me about their other regular flying spot that is right around the corner from my home which is awesome because I was really having a hard time finding a spacious and "legal" spot to fly my P500 that is convenient.

Damn, My Lipotech and Turnigy 850Kv won't do that with the CC Lite 100 ESC wonder if it's ESC or Motor thats really making the difference?

Everyone that tachs their heli with a CC ESC keeps saying their headspeed is much lower than ours on YGE.

Are you guys using an actual Tach or just by CC's supposedly headspeed?

Both. I've tachd mine and it's close to what is set for the cc gov. But seems like hs is lower than what the YGE can do for same setup? I go just untill the gov tells me insufficient headroom. I should try fixed endpoints some time and just do flatline curves. See what hs I get then on full battery.

When you use the governor on the CC esc. it gives you a limit because it is making room for servos. so it has room for the bec.. thats what I assume.. when looking at my own logs I see mine ramp up to 2900 rpm's for a sec then go back to 2600 in IU. When I had the old lipotech 80, It scared the hell outta me to have to ramp my heli up to 90% jus so the esc would be happy. Not to mention at 2900 rpm's the Protos is a MONSTER.. soo fast whew And right now all I need is 2600 to do what I'm doing in flight.. but I know if I want to go faster its a tooth or two away and still keep it governed. We have rain this weekend but next time I'm out with my friends I'll use a actual tach and see what it says.

Also, I know it depends on Governed or not. You can acheave higher HS if not governed but speed will reduce as battery drains.
My CC Software tells me with my 850KV motor, the max I can get is 2735RPM I run 2600 and it gives me the caution not enough headroom warning, but it seems to fly fine for my flying
