One concern I have with this new frame design is the reduction of available swashplate vertical travel due to the increased distance between the top and middle main shaft bearings (to accommodate the servos). Some guys wanting to run extreme amounts of collective pitch may be disadvantaged. I'm guessing there's about 7mm less vertical travel available.

Also, Align were very clever to position their bellcrank rod right in between the rear and front (pair) of swashplate balls when viewed from the side. This is what gives it that near "perfect" geometry without any noticeable interactions.

kenkamm, you're right about the ccpm interactions on this new frame, but as you say, it can be worked out with a mix. I've been considering going without the bellcranks on a stock frame. Even in that config there is a slight interaction because the pushrods are not at the same angle from vertical between ele and ail/pit, but it's less severe than the interaction on this new frame since all the arms can be configured to come from the "outside" if you flip the rear servo over. But again - a mix in the right place will resolve it. It's just a matter of being able to tolerate those "crooked" links.

Lovetofly, there are changes not seen in the pics that will accommodate pitch

As for interactions you are correct but... they will be very minimal as servo throws have changed. Lets just say this set up has SUPER FAST servo response

yes it is responsive!!! All ccpm machines have interaction and yes you can take the time to fine tune it out wiht a mix or Swash menu that is all ihave flown is ccpm machines ........My comment was based upon throwing a swash tool on and squareing the swash center top and bottom and flying it i havent even bothered to fine tune it and it flies really square

I have no doubt you will work it out, but I'm an engineer, so I just love the technical discussion!

So, what's your trick to allow enough pitch? I've studied the movement of the stock head and this would be a problem unless you modify the head linkages a bit.

I wonder if a straight shot cylinder devise might work better. Like a cylinder that moves in and out of a sleeve.

I have the HFE frames with the 600XL motor and had to cut the top of the canopy for the motor to fit. Would it be worth it to go with these new frames when they come out?.....will it save much weight over the stock align frames? My HFE's come in at 6.3lbs RTF with the 9650's on the cyclic (a little weary of them on my 600 to be honest)

Jet,

you won't have to cut the canopy on this frame. I am making these frames because I was asked by many people to make a frame similar to HFE but with full size servos So I have. As for weight savings over stock I don't know will know after prototype is complete

Thanks Charlie, I'll look forward to pick up these new frames when available. Will they be offered in CF as well?

Another masterpiece Charley!!

SWEETTTTTTT!!!!

Bobby was THRASHING Greg's T-REX at SEFF to the point of shedding a V Paddle and half a flybar. If he says this new HFX is sweet, I believe him.

Thanks guys for making a fine heli even better!!

Yeah... What's the tentative release date on these? They look very nice! Do they come with those sweet carbon control arms for the servos?

Thanks Shawn and Will !!!

The plan so far is a little more testing before releasing. But not much longer on the time frame.

So if any plan to attend Jacksonville event this up coming weekend Bobby and I plan to be there wringing out some prototypes stop by and take a look
The pictures shown earlier in earlier posts don't show all that has been done to make this thing well.... lets just say
