Default Replacing ESC on Belt CP v2

Hi guys,

A mishap with my Belt CP v2 (I didn't do it) caused my Esky ESC to catch fire and needless to say it has to be replaced. I bought a Turnigy Plush 30A to replace it with but I'm not sure about the wiring. The motor has 3 colors coming from it, blue, red, and black, I think those are the colors off the top of my head. What colors should go to A, B, C on the ESC?

Thanks in advance.

Connect the motor leads in any order and carefully check for rotation, meaning main and tail blades off. If reversed, just swap any two motor leads.

Thanks. Just to calrify, So with the battery connected and Tx off, connect the three and check for rotation. If nothing, try throttle with Tx to see if it's working as expected? If there is rotation, swap the connectors until no rotation?

Not quite.

The 3 wires will work to power the motor in any configuration. What will be different is the direction of rotation, so you are checking to make sure the motor turns the right way.

If it turns the wrong way, just swap any two wires.

In my opinion there is no real need for the level of caution described by Jerry. Just connect up the motor, and go to your normal take off spot. Go through your normal startup routine, Tx on first etc, then power up the heli. Now simply try the throttle. If, as the motor spools up, the maingear just spins backwards, then you know you need to swap any two of the three wires over. If it already starts to spool up, and the mainblades turn, then you know you have it correct already. If the maingear spins backwards the mainblades will not turn, because the one way bearing will disengage the mainblades.

As Luke said, any wiring configuration works, it is only a matter of direction, which is then adjusted by swapping any two of the three wires.

By the way, never ever power up the heli without the Tx powered up. Always, always, throttle down, idle up off, Tx on, heli on. When turning off, always Tx off last, so that there is never any time that the helicopter might not be controlled.

Cheers

Sutty

That confidence level comes from owning a private airfield, Andy; I usually test for these things in my office, even with a 600

Thanks guys. I got it figured out and now she runs again. I should clarify that I meant no throttle above, rather than keep the Tx switch turned off. For anyone doing this in the future, the configuration was:

A: Black
B: Red
C: Blue

Now to bind this thing to my DX6i, program it, and.....wait til it stops raining to try it out. haha

Speaking of binding to DX6i, will the stock receiver that came with the Belt CP v2 bind with the DX6i?

I'm afraid not, you will need a DSM2 Rx.

Thanks, after some Googling I figured that one out just a bit ago

Regardless, I'm looking to pickup a AR6110e for it or would an OrangeRx Spektrum DSM2 Compatible 6Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver work ok?. I really don't want to put much money into this helicopter as I plan to get something better on the same scale.

I use loads of the Orange Rxs, without any issues.

But don't think of putting good electronics into this heli as a waste; you can always take them out and use them in the next one!

Good point, thank you sir. Going to have my brother pickup a AR6110e from the LHS on his way down here today.

I did power up the Belt CP v2 with the stock Tx and forgot how powerful this bigger helicopter was. I've been flying my Nano CP X and have gotten use to it

Anyway, thanks for the help guys, can't wait to get this in the air again.
