Default New to FlyBarLess

Hi All,

Not a problem realy just a general question.

I have always flown flybarred helis in the past, but I now think it is time I tried out this new black magic stuff.

I have just bought two 450's, one with the Spektrum AR7200BX and another (Which Was Dirt Cheap) which has a unit on it that cant be named on this forum.

This is the question that I have. I have read and watched vids on both systems and people have there own points of view. The part that I am confused about is that on a proper heli you set the tail with the heading hold gyro turned off, set tail so that there is no rotation as near as possible then turn back on heading hold and that should be set mechanically. I have seen nowhere in the instructions to do this on a fbl unit. Am I missing something here??

Any Help advice/Tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Fred

I just turn the transmitter to rate mode, do a test hover and then adjust the servo or linkage. Repeat till it hovers without much rudder stick needed. Do this procedure without wind.
In the transmitter I have rate mode gain 45 and HH mode gain 60. In the zyx I have tail total gain of 100.

Thanks for that information.

On the one which we cant mention it would appear that in the software default setting is heading hold, cant see where to turn it off. On my handset DX8 I am using the 3 way gyro switch, and in all 3 setttings I have it from -100 , 0, +100 and I still cant get it to turn off.

Some FBL controllers and helis have better tail performance with a Rate mode setup.
