Anyway, site over the top of the gauge where it's straight and line it up with the flybar rod. Then adjust the pitch accordingly. Make sure you unplug the motors and adjust with the battery connected. That way the servos will stay centered. Also, I've found it best to make the pitch adjustments in idle up. Center the throttle stick and adjust the blades to zero and go from there. If you don't mean the pitch gauge, you'll get lots of volunteers  (just had to throw that in). |

Alright, I watched the helifever video and it is really pretty lame. The pitch gauge helps you get the pitch of your blades right. In normal mode the pitch should increase from zero degrees (from horizontal) when the throttle stick is all the way down to 10 degrees (from horizontal) when the throttle stick is pushed all the way up. As pitch increases, so does lift. In idle up, the pitch should go from -10 degrees to 10 degrees. Before using your pitch guage, you are going to have to disable your motors, so the first thing I would recommend to do is take a picture of your 4-in-1 where the motors plug in so you'll know how to plug them back in after unplugging them. When you have your picture and ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE THE MOTORS UNPLUGGED, turn on your radio and plug your battery into your heli. Now as you move the throttle stick up and down, notice that when looking at a blade from it's end, it twists clockwise and counter clockwise as you push the throttle stick up and down. With the throttle all the way down, put on the pitch guage as shown in the video and adjust them until the top edge of the pith guage is parallel to the flybar. With throttle stick all the way down, you should be reading zero degrees on your pitch guage. Similarly, push the throttle stick all the way up and again adjust the pitch guage until it's top edge is parallel to the flybar. Here, you should be reading 10 degrees. You can measure the pitch of the other blade similarly, and you can also check the pitch when in idle up. Usually no adjustment needs to be made to servo or mixing links. But after a crash and rebuild, pitch is usually going to be off, so this is when a pitch guage is really useful. Hope this helps.

Call it whatever you like, I added description and detail I figured was missing from the video and from your post.

this is an optical illusion. There is a helicopter somewhere in the picture, if you concentrate.

How do you use...?!! Heck, where'd you get that fine little thingie?! I've got a couple of the bigger ones, but that little one's awfully nice - and ought to work a lot better with my little toys.

Thanks, zooland1.
I'd seen a picture recently of a JR Universal, but nothing in the pic for size reference, and what she's holding looks a little different from it. Now that you've told me where to look, I might be able to finish setting up my new - second-hand - 'Rex. |

Hi zooland1,
I didn't notice it was upsidedown. At any rate, I guess it's a good thing the question wasn't about setting up curves.

I don't see a single thing with how the curves are set up now....
