I've played with the new tail grips and found one thing. The inner radial bearing is 0.5mm higher in one grip then in the other one. I hope it won'thave any influence on balance. I hate vibrations!
And another thing. I had to use 0.2mm shims instead of the 0.3mm ones Align gives us. It was way too tight.
If it's the inner radial closest to the tail hub it's going to vibrate for sure as it will offset the entire tail grip by .5mm.

I played with 0.1mm shims and found the combination. Now I have almost no vibrations on the tail. I like this V2 grips! Works like the Quick UK ones which is awesome. Good upgrade.

Where did you get the 0.1mm shims?

I think the combo should work, as the stack is only critical from the hub viewpoint. Actually, in my my pack of 2 V2A hubs, one worked without slop or bind, and the other had binding. Again, I think it is Align's tolerances that make the difference. If you get a set of the -B hubs, and one doesn't work try the other one.

Thanks. Well I bought 2 V2 "A" tail assemblies and between the two of them was successfully able to cobble one non-binding tail together using .1mm shims. I'm going to order a set of the "B" hubs to see if I can get another one up and running.

It's been said before, but this is ridiculous...

I have 4 new in box HN6103BT, V2 Metal Tail Rotor Holder / Silver.

Still coming without shims... but wait.... upon closer look, they ARE in there. Had to heat and remove the outer radial bearing to tell. They stick together quite well.

Any update on how the "B" version is working? Will this fit on the stock Trex 700N tail shaft, I have an older 700 kit.

I find the B version to be quite the cat's meow.
