I usually fly in temps that range from 70-95+F, typically over 80F. This is why I could not get away with the 16t as the batteries were just too hot.

Currently running one old FP25 (coolest temps, but power drop in 2nd half of flight) and one older and two newer (thicker) Evolite 5350's. The Evolite's offer consistent power throughout the flight but do come down hotter if there are higher ambient temps and/or flown hard. (I'm not noticing a difference between the older/newer Evolites.) As my skills are improving, I'm demanding more of the power system and seeing where the limitations are.

Looking forward to your report!

think a jazz55 will work with this motor on 6s?
they seem to be able to take a beating on 10s but i guess the current is lower then?

For folks using this with a Jive, did you use the 4mm plugs on the jive wires (which are BIG), or replace the 4mm on the motor for bigger ones?

I managed to get the 4mm on the jive 100 wires but I had to heat the wire to do it, bunt my fingers a little too .

You can use a dremel to make the ends smaller, just a few quick touches with dr dremel and you can fit it into any end you like.

Anyone else here having KV issues with this motor? I mentioned it on another thread, but didn't get much response, so I thought I'd check here.

On my Jive 100+LV set at 75%, 16T pinion, I'm getting over 2600 head speed. Calculating that out, I'm over 100% efficiency. I'm guessing my motor is hotter than 1100KV, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this, or has any other ideas what might be going on.

Sounds like you somehow got a 1390kv one or something, I would contact Scorpion or who you got it from and get the 1100. At that % mine is more around the 2300 tops mark.

Well got my 4020 1100KV motor today, installed the motor (removed the old 40/10L 8P) both were running 15T pinion.

RPM seems to hold better under load. Only got 1 quick flight in.
Seems like a good motor.

The z power 1100 works great. Good power to flight time (5 1/2 minutes about). A good compromise. The scorpion may give a bit more power but you'll trade that for flight time. There's always a trade off with the electrics. I see some guys with super hot set ups but 4 min flight time or less.

The scorpion is "very" efficient imho, you will get more power and still get same flight times as the Z1100, "I have them both". The scorpion is a much higher quality motor then the Z.

Had one; loved it. Tended to overheat the Jazz, and the Jive controller wouldn't power on with it. Thus, came here.

One of the last few posts caught my attention. While I do want to eventually have a 'hot' setup, I'm still in the sport flying stage and was wondering if going with the 4020-1100 would be wasteful flying time wise. I know motors are governed by a bunch of different characteristics, but I noticed the Hacker A40-10L has a lower no-load current, 1.7A, compared to the 4020-1100, 2.45 A.

I ran the 40/10L and then went 4020 1100KV and did not notice difference in flight time, timer is still set the same.

I had to drop my timer by 20 seconds but that is only because the Scorpion gives so much reserve power on tap that harder 3D moves will use that and drain the power more. If I just flew around and did really light 3D to simulate how I flew with the Hacker I'd probably get more time with the Scorpion. Now I find myself doing more punch outs and harder 3D because its more fun and that takes the power.
