I'm using the motor in the link below in this heli. The heli has a 5.65/1 belt ratio and 6S 2650Mah 40c battery. With no blades fitted the head tachs at 3200rpm. Throttle curve is a flat 100%

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...runner-v2.html

It flies great. It sounds like its spinning the 425mm blades pretty fast but I'm unable to measure the head speed in flight.

The problem I'm having is that it bogs real easy. I've tried gearing up and down, changing max pitch, esc timing settings... I just cant get any worthwhile power out of it.

It doesn't even heat up that much. Even the esc stayed cool until I set the timing to max (30deg). It may have performed a tiny bit better but still nowhere near as good as my old trex500 with the align 1600kv motor.

Maybe this motor is junk? Can anyone think of something else to try before I spend a stack of money on a scorpion motor?

check the timing your using on your ESC....

with that tail gear ratio you have a low head speed heli..... Nice

I changed the motor to an Emax 3520 1125Kv and swapped the 16t motor pulley to a 14t. Wow! What a difference! Now I'm getting 3100rpm with the HW V3 governor at 80%. No bogging and super snappy performance.

I may have spun it to fast though. It developed a small vibration which quickly escalated to a bad vibration. Then the rudder control link broke off

Damage isn't to bad, She'll be back in the air soon enough.

I think the vibration might have been caused by slightly bent tail rotor hub. Its impossible to tell if it was bent before or after the crash. It really is very important to check EVERYTHING after a heli takes a hit. At 2600rpm a slight bend in something doesn't cause a problem, but spin the crap out of it and things go bad.
