I have battled with similar issues for the last few days. I felt I had read around most of the problem, but still could not make it work. I have finally solved it, hopefully my experiences will help others.

My setup: DX8, ZYX-S firmware 3.5, Orange & Spektrum DSMX satellites, Tarot software 3.0 and 4.0 a full range AR6210 (used for binding).

I tried all sorts of variations and by the way the Orange rx and the Spektrum produced identical results. I tried 11ms and 22ms DSMX. In all cases the best I could achieve was apparent functionality but without rudder or throttle response. I tried different power supplies, servos connected and not ..... as many variations as I could come up with, but could never get rudder or throttle response on the Tarot software monitor screen.

Eventually I tried binding my satellite using an AR8000. I had avoided doing that up to now as this rx is buried deep in a tight fitting glider fuselage. But when needs be!! Anyway, this completely solved my problem ..... full functionality straight away.

Hope this helps!!

i have a 130x, fitted with zyx-s and a spektrum sat, turnigy 12a esc, rotary servos and spin motor. just finishing the build. after much hassel i got the sat working by binding both it and orange rx directly to the zyxs, then attaching just the sat afterwards. seems to work fine.

two questions. my 130x is quite heavy now (about 136g with lipo, minus canopy..and this after many weight saving measures) so looking to save a extra few grams on the rx / esc. does an orange sat rx weigh much less than a spektrum sat. looks like it would be a lot lighter without such a bulky case . ive tried taking the case off my sat but the board is impossibly stuck to the case. if i could get it down to 130g without canopy id be happy, as it has a spin motor which is pretty powerful.

secondly i was thinking of getting the bluetooth dongle to tune the 130x. i have a number of zyx birds. can it be used with all versions of zyx, or just the zyx-s onwards. i hate the usb dongle; the cable is too short.

There are two versions of bluetooth dongles, one for ZYX-S and a different one for ZYX-S2. They are not interchangeable as far as I know. And the app is only for android devices.

thanxs. this dongle from HK says it works with zyx. but it doesnt say anything about the zyx-s. can you comfirm its works on both, as i have two zyx -s and four plain xyz.

i have no zyx-s2 so not bothered if it works on those but i presume it doesnt.

i have a samsung galaxy tab3 with the zyx software installed and ready to go.

I cant confirm that the blue one works on zyx or zyx-s, I only have a zyx-s2 dongle (the yellow one).

I can confirm that the blue dongle works perfect with a ZYX-S on an android phone. I used the PC software for the initial set up, then used the bluetooth to do the fine tuning out at the field.

The pairing code is 5782
