Menu -> Electronics / Other Then choose the GT5.1 Gyro. Pick "GT5 Technical" in the Download-menu in the upper right corner. There you have everything you need. |

That's great, thank you, the flash-link is even on clearance price plus 15% off at my store
Only one more problem.....how do I know if my 5.1 is hardware 1.0 or 2.0?

This usb device uses the same drivers and I think it might work. I don't have a GT5.1 yet to try it on. The software does seem to recognize it.

Stefan, will the new firmware react similar to units like vbar and bx in that increasing dualrate to over 100% limit will only increase rate of speed for cyclic and not physical throw as with the old one? on bx for instance i can increase agility in different flightmodes by increasing d/rate to125% without increasing physical travel.

Hi, yes exactly. GT5 uses PID control just as mostly any other system. You can adjust rotation rates by increasing/decreasing stick throw in transmitter or directly inside gt5 by adjusting the rates in stick control menu.

So should I just try and update with hardware 1.0......& if that doesn't work then go with hardware 2.0 ? Or is there a way to see which hardware my GT5.1 has?

Will the 5.2 software improve performance on the previous GT's without the 5.2 hard ware?

Hi all,
Sorry to revive and old thread but I wanted to ask something. I have a Spartan Flash link and Beastx cable (also Tarot, CSM and Castlelink but not tried those yet) The only way I can get the Com port in the device manager is to install the Spartan driver. After finding the Flash Link in the device manager, and enabing VCP, unplugging and replugging the Flash Link I can see the Com port but when I try to connect to the GT5 I get a no data received error from the software. Do I need to have an RX connected with the TX switched on for the software to be able to connect to the device? Also I'm using a 4 cell Nimh pack to power the GT5 which is putting out 4.9v, I know the GT5 itself will work ok at that voltage but would it being lower than 5v affect the ability to communicate with the computer? I've tried this on 2 different windows 7 machines, one 32bit, the other 64 bit with the same issue. Any ideas? Cheers D |
