Default Real Carbon Fiber Booms at a good price!

Just a quick note to say compared to the Align Carbon wrapped aluminum boom H80T005XX for $50.99 I have found a cheaper and lighter real carbon tube alternative. I ordered a couple off eBay for $67 from China. That's $33.50 each. I'm very impressed with the quality of them. Mostly by the interior being smooth as glass and true for insertion of the torque tube. The stock one weighs 158 grams and the full carbon one weighs 106 grams uncut. I'll reweigh it after sizing it down about 3". It's very close in stiffness as well.

How much lighter is the CF tube. On my 800 I had to add nose weight to even the heli out.

Stock boom 158 grams
Carbon boom 97 grams

Thats 2 ounces lighter. And Im impressed as to how easily the rubber bearing supports slide in perfectly. I spooled it up to 1900 with the tail blades on and it was smooth!

Thank you.

I wonder if there are also thinner CF booms Φ20.3xΦ21.5x885mm like in 700 stretch kit...

They appear to be identical in thickness.

Sorry you said thinner. I was speaking of thickness specifically. You can buy the full carbon booms all day from HeliDirect for the 700. I have those as well which is why I mentioned the fit being good on the 800 torque tube. It's not so good in the boom for the 700.

No problemo.

There is another solution. I suppose plastic tail mount from 800 fits 700. I am not sure 100%.
