I have heard firmware is in testing and working, hopefully once its confirmed they will be out, I doubt manufacturing is an issue, more so the software working correctly.

Not sure why the jive still only goes to 6v on the bec? With all the hv servos coming out you'd think they would bump it to 8.4v...

I have a NIB Jive 120 too.

To clarify, what you get by upgrading to the HeliJive is the autorotation bail-out feature and the ability to use the V-bar governor function. Is that it? Or is there more?

So has kontronik taken out the throttle response delay to suit the v-bar governor? Has anyone tested it?

Depends on what you mean with compatible... it doesn't have a RPM signal for example. Maybe JLog can help out, but I have no info if the JLog works with a HJive... let's wait until some more reports are available. Shipping began this week and some got their HJives...

What I mean is the timing issue that made the jive not usable. When you say it works now do you mean its ok like the hobbywing esc's or is it working in perfect harmony with the v-bar gov?

HeliJive has a mode called GAS MODE, basically it is a straight forward throttle control without any delays. MrMel in the VBar forum states that this will be the best ESC to use with the VBar governor.

No the bail-out function is truly confusing. According to the instructions the spoolup during the bail out will be one sixth of the normal spoolup, but their maths is a bit crooked as it states that if you have adjusted the normal spoolup to 12 sec, then the bail out spoolup is 3 sec!!

Quote:
The autorotation allows the motor to spool up in a
shorter time to higher RPM. This allows for abrupt
interception maneuvers. The spool up time in
autorotation mode is depended on the set RPM
spool up time and is 1/6 of this value. If a general
spool up time of 12 seconds is set, in autorotation
mode the spool up time is now 3 seconds.
Autorotation has to be activated via PROGDISC –
HELI JIVE Card and “Full throttle”, “Motor-Off” and
“Brake” positions have to be set. The percentage
throttle value can be set via throttle.
BUT the catch is that if the ESC now sees the bail out throttle percentage (15-20%) for longer than 12 seconds then it reverts back to normal slow spoolup. This means your autos cannot be longer than 12 seconds, unless you do not want to bail.....

Quote:
Should the bail-out maneuver be stopped and the
motor is switched on again, the HELI JIE returns to
the preset RPM in quick spool up. If the switch
remains in autorotation position for more than 12
seconds soft start of the motor is reactivated. Due
to security considerations the quick spool up will
also be deactivated for the next one spool up, if the
throttle is in Motor-Off position for more than 15
seconds.

Mode 8 fbl mode is for the vbar gov not gas mode and the autos are handled by vbar so they dont time out theres alot of modes and different ways to use the helijive .

Can you change the 12 seconds for the auto bail out? I have not timed it, but it seems like an auto in a 700 from way up high might take longer than that.
