Default On board Camera Thread.

I am wanting to pick up a Cam to put on board that is light enough for my V2 to carry.

I know alot of you guys have the little keychain deals but where did you get them, and what did it cost, how do you like it. pros and cons...esc....

I figured if you all compile info here in one thread all about on board cameras it would bee easy for one to decide which one to purchase.

We could also post vids of OB footage..

Ha, yea that's quite extensive, for a little cam that i bought off ebay for $12 shipped from china. Nice little cam. According to the chart i have #3 and it worked great until.....G/f put it threw the wash and dry cycle. Eh, its so small and light i left it in a shirt pocket and forgot it was there. It still works intermittently and takes good vids when it works. And the bee barely even knows its there. Heck i've even mounted it on my lama v4................Kato

Great initiative BK!

I've got myself an ACME FlyCamOne Eco V2 (site) for about 30 EUR (not including SD card or shipping).

Specs:
Weight: 17 gram (0.6 oz)
Power: 4.5 - 6V
Modes: Video, serial photo, photo
Resolution: 720 x 480
Framerate: 30p
Memory: Micro SD card up to 8GB (not included)

Dimensions:
Head: 22x24x28mm
PCB: small enough to fit in the Bee's frame

Pictures of it installed in my Bee here.

Pro's:
-Easy to install, camera can be hung under the frame, PCB can be mounted inside the frame between the 4-in-1 and the battery.
-Lightweight
-No extra battery, powered by the 4-in-1
-Controllable through free channel, or by button on PCB
-Image can be flipped 180 degrees for upside down mounting
-Camera head angle can be adjusted (even by servo!)
-Looks cool
-White balancing is pretty decent.

Cons:
-Expensive compared to key-chain cam
-May run into heating problems with the V2 4-in-1 running 3S Li-Po, the amp draw is rather high. Should be safe to use with V1 2S Li-Po. Haven't had any problems since I use a CP3 3-in-1.
-Image quality isn't great, comparable to key-chain cam
-Sound is really loud, microphone sits right underneath the main gear

Overall I'm pretty happy with it
It's important to note that fixing all vibrations in your Bee will improve image quality a LOT.

Here's a sample video, unbalanced and fairly vibrating Bee, but you get the idea

That would bee really cool to get it operating on a seperate servo.
The tail motor sounds cool ripping like it does.

I'm pretty happy with it being able to control it with a switch on my remote is a nice feature. It's also possible to power it with a separate one cell LiPo. And it's pretty crash resistant
Gotta love the sound of a DD tail
