Default Different BNF version help needed

I'm new to the BNF scene, and at this point I have a Spektrum DX6i bound to a blade180 quad, blade microQX quad, and a Champ plane. I have a great time with all of them but I want to add to the fleet. Obviously all of the Blade "stuff" is compatible with Spektrum, but what other brands are, or can I assume any BNF plane will bind to my DX6i?

I don't even know who all makes park flyers - I've seen Hobbyzone, parkzone, etc...

Hobbyzone, Parkzone and E-flite BNF planes will bind with your DX6i. There is also an adapter you can get to use with FlyZone TX-R planes if you wanted to use your DX6i with one of those. http://www.tacticrc.com/anylink/anylink2.html

Hobbyzone, Parkzone, Blade are all made by HH and as such, they all use the spektrum branded receiver which is what you require.

If whatever you buy has a Spectrum receiver, then you'll be fine.

There are others out there that your DX6I will connect to, eg Orange, but reliability of the link would be in question.

If you buy something with a different brand of receiver, just change it over to a spectrum branded receiver.

You can also buy a lot of planes as "Plug and Play" (PNP), which have everything you need except for a receiver. You can pick up a 4 channel reciever from HH for about $30 to make the plane ready for binding.
