Default i need help with charging setup

Hello guys.
I need some help and have a few questions regarding my charging station.

I use a enclosed trailer and have a ryobi inverter generator that says it can handle 1800watts continues. Inside the trailer is one power strip and the trailer is outfitted with 3 led lights.
I use the power strip to power a small radio, cell phone charger and things like that. The led's are like 4watts, (very low power consumption).

In my power station im running two power supplies to give me 24v at 69 amps. I use an ec5 plug to a powerlab 8. So far i haven't had one issue with this setup.

Now for my questions
I would like to add another powerlab charger 6 or 8. Im only charging 6s and smaller packs so is there any reason to spend the extra money for the 8?
Also do you guys seen any problem using a Y connection with the ec5 plugin to feed 2 powerlab chargers 24v from the same power supply?

someone told me that the ec5 plugs were good for about 40amps. But that its hard for me to believe, seeing how i use them on my gaui x7 on 12s with a 120amp esc.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to kill my generator or my power station.

Thanks

I would go with another PL8 for these reasons:

1) You can backup all settings and presets from one unit and restore it the other. This cannot be done going from PL8 to PL6.
2) You can run in expansion mode. Very handy feature and very underutilized. Cannot be done with a PL8 and PL6 combo.
3) 200 total watts of discharge. Nice for quick discharge to storage. Also can be done in expansion mode making it quick and easy.

As for the EC5, I would not use a Y cable that consists of 3 EC5s. I would add another EC5 in parallel so each charger has its own EC5 and doesn't neck down to a single EC5. I believe they are rated at 120 amps. Our models draw very sporadic current. The heating is cumulative. The charger draws a constant load, and there's no time for the connectors to cool. While it would work to pull 69 amps through a single EC5, its a much cleaner and better setup to separate them.

You will also need to be careful not to overload your generator or your supply. With that setup you will be able to do both. The load of the charger+supply is different that something simple like a heater or drill. The load fluctuates during the charge cycle and this is hard for generators to cope with. Expect to get between 1300 and 1400 watts total output to the packs before the generator causes stability issues with the charger.
