Yup I think Align may have received a bad batch of the servos... I am lucky, I got mine in the second batch of 700Ls that came into the country, and seven months of flying, so far so good...

Nice flying there Trex!

I got my servos in November last year from Align-Trex.co.uk, he took them back then tested them himself and were replaced and returned to me the same day. Always good service there.

Thank buddy! Yeah not sure of the time frame of the bad batch, I am sure it's different per your location. It was August when I got mine, and I was pretty proactive on the threads then, I don't remember hearing about servo issues?

Guys he is getting a "business law degree" so he knows what he's talking about. He's going to sue to get his money back.

I'm not sure he knows how litigation works. He will spend 10k trying to get his 2k back. Lol

Oh man I just bought 14 align servos and none of them worked. Crap servos oh wait I didn't realize I needed to hook them up to my gyro to make them work. My bad....... lol

I love how videos are made showing a problem but the person is too scared to talk us through the video. I hate my voice but I'd still talk.

I've logged 400 8 minute flights with my DS610s. Old faithfuls to me.

I bought the Top Dominator L ( 850 motor ) in sept of 2014 when it was 1st released. I have 22 hrs of flite time now. This would be the 1st release. I'm using the BD for my fbl controller. My friend bought 2 Top Dominators ( 800 motor ) and has had no issues with his servos. We both use Futaba radios.

To all reading this thread:
My eyes went crazy too regards the lack of paragraphs - I'm glad someone else mentioned it. But I was about to buy my first 700 - yes, a Dominator from Align, but not the "Top" version. There is a guy on YouTube also telling his story of woe (
T-REX 700L Dominator TOP Super Combo review- BUYER BEWARE! (32 min 0 sec)
) with a very similar sounding story with his servos.

New Para(!!!!!!!)
Now I have to say I am seriously worried about getting an Align 700L. Should I be? Align has been around for ages without any trouble and is surely one of the most respected names in the business. It does seem strange that the servos are all failing at the same time on the same heli. I'm not experienced enough to know if an ESC can cause this sort of thing but I'd love to know if you would have had the same problem with a different set of other components - ESC, FLB etc.

I will be investing £1,000 on this new flying machine and bearing in mind how dangerous they can be if not working correctly, I don't want a voice in my head nagging me while flying: "are those servos going to give up on me?"

We can always buy the airframe only and add different servos until this spectre goes away
UPDATE: I think I'm right saying that the issue was the GPro unit, not the servos?? I'll be using a BD3SX. Am I safe to go with the 700L then? I will thoroughly check the servos first.

I've had my 700l for a short period but so far love the servos. I am running a V bar not the Gpro just because I really like Vbar.

Servos are very efficient and extremely quiet. I'm looking forward to pushing them harder as I break in the heli.

No worries that you tube video has a false title. It was the gpro which most of us Align guys switch out for a better gyro. Mine is vbar. All you need to worry about is make sure you get a set of rail tail blades. So if you need them you have them.

I don't understand how he diagnosed "bad servos" over and over. Wouldn't a person try testing them straight off a receiver? How about linkage setup/binding, etc.? Has he tested input voltage or amperage flow? How about voltage sag (insufficient amp supply) while cycling all servos? Trying a different gyro..... etc. etc.?

The definition of insanity:
Repeating the same mistakes over and over expecting different results....

+1 just built mine and maidened it yesterday. She flies like a dream. my new favorite.

Definitly worth the money spent and i would recomment it to anyone who is in the market.

Thank You Align
Now I just hope Align fixes the tail hum issue by including lighter align blades

I have at least 100 flights now on the new 700l servos flying as hard as I can.

All I can say is I'm extremely impressed with them so far. No issues at all.
