AEO Converter, should red light be blinking?
Hi I’m just trying to put together my first bl setup, I’m using the AEO converter, XP-12A and HP05s.
I have the converter wired in the same as liftbag’s shown here except I have the signal coming from the front of the board (my soldering was not so good on the tiny point on the back ), if I power the 3-1 it binds fine but the led on the converter constantly blinks; should this go solid if it has the signal? Thanks for any help |

You cannot use the AEO with the motor connector well. Use the rear resistor and it will work. It will blink as long as its powered.

I HAD to use the back resistor and my light was faulty so I have no blink, but it should be blinking.

I think you are probably OK if you solder the converter input wire to to the small resistor in the back.

Same here, mine wouldn't work soldered to the front, I had to 'man up' and solder to the tiny point on the back !
All good after that |

I’ve managed to solder onto the small resistor on the back, going to the 2nd point on the converter then from the 3rd point on the converter to the xp-12a, put power into it and the xp-12a just keeps on beeping.
I re-soldered wires back onto the xp-12a and plugged into the program card and it read settings fine. Un-soldered wires again and soldered the output from the converter to the esc, power it up esc still just beeping Does anyone know a test I can run to see if the converter is getting signal in and sending one out please? |

Can you post pictures of where you have things soldered on the converter?

Ok, I found problem 1, there was still a bit of that gunk on the resistor on the back that I didn’t see/get .
So with un-trimmed wires I finally got a beep beep (other 3 beep sound) from the esc and the red light on the xp-12a goes out; I put some throttle in and the motor spins up in the right direction, throttle down and it stops, I did that a couple of times with the thought of finally , now I just have to trim the wires down so it will be flyable. Wires trimmed down, it’s not pretty but I will get to see what it’s like tomorrow at local indoor fly. But nope now sometimes it will spin-up but will not stop so I have to pull the power, sometimes all looks ok but the motor will not spin-up, sometimes it will spin-up full speed with no input and sometimes the light on the converter will go solid and it does nothing?? I'm not having a good first build doh I’m clueless and frustrated, any ideas? |

If the sense connection isn't connected well the motor will spin up and won't shutdown. I had the sense wire vibrate loose once and the motor slowed down but kept running. I did a powered landing and had to unplug the battery to shut it down
Good Luck, Don Quote:

sense wire? Do you mean the signal wire on the resistor?

Yes it kind of made sense I got my magnifying glass out and the wire was overstepping the resistor a bit and making slight contact with whatever that is above it , cut the excess with a scalpel and now it’s working
I will finally get to fly a bl mCP X, I haven’t even seen one in real life yet as I’m the first around here that I know of to have one Thank you for the help people , and belated xmas wish comes true |

Guys what does it mean when the AEO converter keeps blinking red? Does it mean it wasn't installed correctly or something I have to program?
Thanks! |

Sorry a bit late for the reply.
You can test the AEO converter by just touch the signal to the positive power. The AEO convert will give 100% motor output. The testing is mention is this thread as well: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=385353 |
