Default Where's the antenna at?

Hello.

So, I'd like to change the length of the RX antenna (2.4ghz) on the PCB of my F45 645, but I can't find it. I've got some experience with boards and 2.4ghz, but there doesn't seem to be an antenna at all. I've got some suspicions as to where it is, but I don't want to do any soldering until I get some guidance.

Any ideas?

The length of the antenna is determined by the length of the radio wave which is inversely proportional to the frequency. The length shouldn't need to be changed. If it's a case of the antenna broke off, I would suggest sending it in for repairs.

Interesting, just curious: higher freq. = shorter antenna ?

Yes, I wouldn't take chances with the Rx and have it go all looney-tunes in flight.

Yes. Remember the older megahertz (MHz) radios with the long antenna? Now we have gigahertz and inch-long antenna.

But, if it were a case of "poor reception". Wouldn't it be possible to relocate ( or even remotely relocate ) the antenna to improve reception? Just a thought.

Yes, but to do so you need the correct cabling (coax of the right impedance). For rc use the stuff is very fine and a real pain to work with even with the right tools, which will cost you $$$$.

Basically, forget it, it is not something a user can really fiddle with.

Think of a radio signal as a wave measured at how many waves within a certain distance. So, higher frequency means more waves in that distance. So, to get more in, they have to be shorter. Shorter wave means shorter antenna.
