spinning
Ok, every time I Throttle-up the tail end spins like a top clockwise.
If I stop it from spinning clockwise it starts spinning counter clockwise. What’s wrong now!!! |

Something is broken or reversed in the tail, servo direction, gyro, something. I'm assuming it's a helicopter and not a duck or a weather ballon? We need more information to help you!

Did you check your tail compensation? That could be the root to your problem. With your throttle off, pick up your heli. Rotate the chopper and the tail should go against the rotation. What kind of gyro do you have?

these sre some of the settings
the gyro comes with the flymentor; here are the settings gyro = 100, yaw rate = 0 pitch to tali mix = 10 servo travel limit = 30 expetr setting, sensor gain = 10 tail delay = 2 heading hold = 3 advance, balancer gain = 100 neutral roll attitude = 100 horizontal & posistion mode = 3 stick sensivity gain = 3 position mode only, position sens.gain = 3 foward freewheel = 10 manual override ability = 3 elevator gain = 10 positioning speed = 3 I have noticed after I changed some of these settings the tail did stop spining somewhat but the flymentor still seems to not be working the copter wahts to drift to the left and the controls are very sensitive Thanks again. |

I would start by putting all advanced values back to their defaults as they rarely if ever require tweaking.

Ok, got it to stop spinning but now, right before take-off it shakes like you know what and it wants to move to the left.

Devo7 acting up?
Hi guys,
Think my devo7is acting up. Every time I throttle up it starts to spin. Look at the rudder in the monitor section of the devo 7 and it appears there is 98%, to one side. Can't remember which way right now. It occasionally comes back to zero, but as soon as I ramp up the throttle it spin again...... |

Problem solved
Worked it out.
It was the devo7 acting up. Finally bit the bullet and opened it up. Found the problem pretty much instantly. The plug connecting the rudder pot to the main board was loose. So as I moved the throttle up the connection was lost. Cable tied it down and hey presto, fixed! |

There should be something in your manual that explain that. I had the same trouble when I first started. What gyro do you have?

Disconnect the motor for safety. Power the heli up and move the tail right quickly by hand and watch the tail control slider it should move in the opposite direction so left. If it does not then connect to Helibal and reverse it under the servo tab.
When that is correct move the TX stick to the right and again the slider should move left if it does not then reverse it under the control tab in Helibal. Hope that helps. |

Setting
I noticed that, the tail slider stays all the way to the left, when I move the stick to the right the slider moves out but, when I let the stick go, it slowly moves all the a way back to the left Side. Right before take-off the helicopter is really smooth and stable but, any more up stick it just starts spinning. And another thing I noticed the rudder stick is real sedative.
Its still spinning like a top |

Sounds like you are in rate mode if you are letting go of the stick and the pitch slider is moving. This makes sense as to your problem. Flip the gear switch. If you move the rudder and it doesn't move, then you are in Heading hold mode. While in rate mode, mechanically center your pitch slider. Once you do that, adjust your end points and then go back to HH mode.

gear switch
Gear switch, ok I will try that. I have a couple of questions please.
With the flymentor what setting should I change in the transmitter? Not to sure about this. Also, I was just wondering if the gyro is working at all. Its the K.D.S. gyro that came with the flymentor. Head holding mode isn’t that set-up In helibal? the red light stays on no the flymentor now all the time not to sure about that adjustment, I know at one time, the green light was on and flashing but not its just the red light on steady, now just waiting for the battrey to charge. |
