Default Solder horizon hobby brushless esc to board?

I have the horizon brushless kit and the wiring is a bit messy and excessive. I've seen how the asteroid design kit has the esc power wires go right to the board (under the yellow bit). I think no can do that with the HH kit, right?

See if this makes any sense. There's a stock esc under the tail esc. Adding the short pigtail wires to the motor plug helps big time, should have had it that way from the factory.

Is that stick esc the HH esc that comes with the bl kit? I have thought about taking he shrunk wrap off. What for it do other than trap heat?

What gauge wire is that? I suppose that helps get more current to the motor.

There are two esc's there, front one is an xp3a for the brushless tail, behind that is the stock HH esc. 24 gauge wire from the battery connector to the esc's.

It's getting a Mild V2 kit installed now because the factory brushless lacks power on this heavy nano.

Didn't see a night and day difference with the bigger wire, the little inrunner motor can only put out so much power. If any of the battery wires to the esc are damaged or frayed, upgrading the wiring might make a huge difference though.

Doesn't fly too bad
20140623190323 (3 min 30 sec)
doesn't hold a candle to a 31 gram rtf mild v2 though!

This brushless tail kit http://astroid-designs.myshopify.com...-the-nano-cp-x with a 47mm lynx tail blade for the BL

2 batts is a bad idea, too heavy. Just get good batteries like the oversky 200mah 35c and treat them right.

My main trick for a good flying nano is getting rid of vibrations, and keeping it as light as possible.

Looks like you also ditched the brown wire and plug and wired to directly to the contact. The plug is one wire that splits, right? Both contacts not needed?

The signal wire only connects to the positive motor output terminal. The wire doesn't split, the negative pin on the stock plug is just covered in shrink tube.

Glue it back on after you clean it, I think they used Loctite from the factory (bearing retainer) a good CA or epoxy would work too.

time for a new motor

Maybe start a wtb thread for burnt up BL tail motors, I think they use the same end cap.

130x is a gamble, it's like caviar, some people can afford it and have a taste for it, and enjoy the hell out of it, some people want to puke at the sight of it because it tastes like expensive fish bait. I lean more towards puke unless it's a full scratch build with almost no stock parts.
