Default Canopy quick mounts

Having lost a few cotter pins with the formula canopy and my idiocy at wrapping the rubber retainers around the tail pushrod and boom, I've been looking for a quick mount solution. The rcbooya's do not bring the canopy together at the back because they stick out too far - according to the Reps at IRCHA.

I came across these at akamullen's site - anyone use'em?

I had sort of the same sentiment with the RC Booya setup for the X5. Not only do the rear Booya posts spread the back of the canopy out, I found they were extremely frustrating to disengage because the angle of the canopy in the rear was causing some degree of leverage against the posts.

In the end I went with a hybrid solution. That is, the Booya posts on the front and the standard formula posts on the back. I left the rubber grommets from the Booya set in the rear holes and find that works a little better since the rear formula posts more easily pass through them without pushing the grommet out of the canopy.

To take care of the cotter pins I installed a set of these Du-Bro clip retainers on the canopy. Anyways, I'm liking this solution. One cool benefit of having the cotter pins tethered to the canopy is that you can clip one into a rear post while it's sitting on the table to keep it from getting blown off by the wind while you're between flights. And I trust the pins to keep them secure more than I would some magnets. Here's a pic...
