Well, can't comment on 3D performance of HK360's but they don't feel a lot different just bobbing around. They do seem to require a bit more collective to leap off the ground than the Lynx. They also seem to be less stiff than other blades I have. I have 5 sets of the HKs and I am flying the ones that needed the most tape to correct and I don;t notice any serious wobbles. Of course, Im not even sure if my mainshaft is straight right now either. Mini P with vbar seems to fly ok even when the mechs are all boffed up.

I installed some new tail grip bearings and new tail blades, oiled all bearings, silicone sprayed the belt. Checked the main grips bearings. Just a good old maintenance once over. I am planning on a full day of flying this weekend. Hopefully I can get in 12-15 batteries

I did notice some slop in the swash tho, not too bad
I also installed my Radix blades, I am planning on bringing my Edge and HK-360's on Saturday.

Dumb thumbed mine today... Simple backwards inverted pass low on the deck and circuits just shorted in my head

Considering I clicked throttle hold about a half second before it hit the ground rotor first, resulting damage is not bad - bent main, spindle (together with all the usual) and busted top main shaft bearing...plus blades and canopy, which was already on its way south for about 6 months anyway.

OOHH, sorry to hear it ! This is why I love my hc3sx's though. That split second of hitting throttle hold and hitting captain recue instead would have pulled the heli straight up out of harms way. I am now spoiled LOL!

Haha, true I have the SX on my Fusion, never used the rescue so far, though. I'm still tuning my tail, it has some annoying tendencies in harder moves...

What did you do with your Mini Protos today?

Well, first flight! Woohoo!
Needs some tuning but already feels connected. Love the sound.

MiniP maiden flight (5 min 22 sec)

Congrats to the successful maiden! Seems like the weather is finally cooperating here too, if not a bit cold. Was warmer on Christmas!

I refuse to let the Mini Protos forum sit idle. This is still one of my favorite helis to fly, and the Mini is definitely the "micro" for me!

Found a park near my work, put in 16 flights this week. Man it feels good! Really breaks up the work day well. Thank god for the Mini

Months? It's been almost two and a half years! I had to dig a long ways back to find a "what did you do today" thread, and it was depressing

Dx9 is what I fly like. The quality of the gimbal alone is enough reason to throw the dx6i away. The extra channels, voice and vibe on the dx9 are awesome, transmitter battery lasts much longer on the dx9 also

Ok I´ll play

Today I flew 8 packs with my stretch after rebuild (dumb thumbs). Thought the chirping sound when I hit pos pitch would be gone now, unfortunately it isn´t. My tic tocs are like chirp - toc - chirp - toc ... have to investigate a bit further.

Also replacement blades came in the mail, Align 360s again. 1,5g difference between the two blades and the shop says "it´s normal with Align" I beg to differ, even my blemished (just crashed) 360s were better than this.

Usually it´s the bearing in the Y support, but I changed it to no avail. Motor bearings also ok. Idler bearings checked&oiled. It´s not a very loud noise, but once you heard it ...

Go with the DX9, you won't regret it. The 6i feels like Fisher Price by comparison, I have the DX9 black and I love it.

Oops, forgot.

I had a chirping too, it was a bad bearing in the motor, recheck all your bearings separately, it was weird as everything ran fine otherwise but only one bearing was slightly notchy and ran for a much shorter time if you spinned it. What I did to test the motor was to take it apart and spin the outer shell while having it just inside a bearing.

Warmest November since beginning of the records (1881!) and a strike of Lufthansa employees => 1/2 day off to fly in absolute calmness!

A new pair of 360s were delivered and they are within spec: CG spot on, only a thin strip of tape needed to balance on the see-saw. After flying the SAB 350s for a couple of dozen times I was surprised I had to re- adapt some moves (again). As I noticed before, the Aligns are much more locked in and controllable for my flying style. Quite a dramatic difference after giving the SABs a chance for a longer time. Glad to have them back on!
