FWIW, I ran a HeliJive in my Logo 600SE on 12s 5000 with a Pyro 700-45. Even with this lightweight motor I never had any complaints about performance and It was pretty much unboggable, but it weighed only 4.2Kg. The 690SX has a few beefed up parts and a bigger canopy, perhaps an extra 300g. A 4525 motor adds another 125g and the YGE controller doesn't have a BEC, so that's another 140g for a separate Rx pack. Some people might like the extra weight and that's a personal preference. I don't remember thinking it was too light when I had my 600SE. For those not needing ballistic performance you'd probably be better off going with the HeliJive + Pyro setup and get longer flight times. I seem to remember getting at least 6 mins even when I flew it hard and more like 8 mins when I didn't.

Hmm this thread seemed to die. Not much interest. I guess I won't have to fight for a kit.

I'm definitely interested. I'm waiting to see the options like converting my 600sx and what combo packages mikado will have on release. I'll likely just build a new kit though as I like my 600sx as is. I'll have one either way though.

I think I'm going to get one. When will just depend on the price.

That's probably because this really isn't an all new heli, and many people who wanted this size may already have 600SE's.

It is basically a slightly beefed up 600SE made to handle a bit more power, with protection for the frame tabs and a few other improvements.

That said, it was definitley worth Mikado's time to do the refresh. I say that because I just never could get myself excited about buying a Logo 500, but the 550SX was just enough of a refresh to get my interest. I'm sure there will be other people who will be grabbed by the 690SX in the same way I was for the 550SX.

I like the 690SX and if I didn't feel like it overlapped with my TDR, I'd consider one.

Thanks guys.

I really am looking forward to a 690SX.

The one-way and main gear on my 600SE have been replaced several times in less than 100 flights as they just aren't up to my "soft 3D" with an XERA 400 on 12s

I originally bought it with the intention of using it for learning real autos but it's just too much fun to fly and not wring it out a little every flight.

Glad to know my HeliJive 120 should suffice on the 690SX.

Unfortunately, a lot of us old Mikado die hards were aware that a new 700 was on the way.
When it turned out to be just a slightly updated 690 se, using similar updates to what we were putting on them four years ago, it was a pretty big letdown.

Cool! Anyone want to wager a guess on how much this will be?

My guess is a lot more than the E700. How much more will determine if it becomes my next 700.

The TT E700 Lists at $699.99
and the 600SE is $690, so if the 690SX is a bit more it should still be pretty close.

They will both take the same electronics to fly well.

It should be close enough that it comes down to your preference.

One thing that stands out is that the E700 has a low tail ratio so you will want 110-115mm tail blades on it.

My guess is that the 690SX will work fine with 105mm tail blades.

Otherwise they are both light and should fly well, but they are at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of their design.

Bell cranks, helical, TT vs Direct to swash, herringbone, belt

You've already got an E700, so if you are looking for something the same, but that is a bit different, this would be your ticket.

The 600SE includes Edge 693 mains and 105 tails. I would expect the 690SX to include the same or equivalent. Does the E700 include blades? If not then it make the Logo a lot more competitively priced,

My thoughts also, so ya sounds like my choice
Yes I'm running 115s on the E700

I flew nothing but a pair of 600se for two years, you will be dissappointed going from the e700 to the 690sx.
The e700 is a more robust heli, flies more precisely, and has the same or more "pop".
If you fly aggressively, you want the e700.
If you want low headspeeds for long training flight times, the 690sx.

No the E700 only comes with 105 tail blades that few use. I guess looking at the 700extreme price made me think it would be alot more.

I'm still new at flying my E700, so I have lots of time to see what everyone thinks of this one. I know I want a 2nd 700 size but it won't be til late this year or early next.

Hmm.. I have a 550sx and a 700XX... While I'm super intrigued, a 690sx seems awfully damn close to my 700 to justify...

The problem is you can't please all people. Different people want different things. People complained that the 600SE wasn't strong enough, so Mikado have made it stronger. For those that wanted a lighter XX700, maybe you have to wait a bit longer. I don't know for sure but I'm not entirely convinced this is the last 700 size machine from Mikado. I wouldn't be surprised if they release a lighter XX700 with plastic parts where metal isn't essential. Dave has suggested this previously. I don't think he meant a beefed up 600SE.

"Yep. When the Logo 700 gets it's molded frame and other parts (and it will in the future), the deletion of the costly CF and heavy metal parts will actually be an "upgrade".
Like the 500/600 molded frame, the new molded 700 frame will be a work of engineering art and functionality, and an already high performance machine will suddenly weigh substantially less, probably cost less, have a MUCH lower parts count, and all discussion about the current Logo 700 being heavier than other 700's can go away...not that the weight of the machine now supported by a 713mm disc causes it to be a slouch by any means.
Then the after-market types can start making new CF and metal down-grades for it
(-: Dave"
