The head has been being hammered on for about 6 months now. On everything from Logo 600's running 620-690's to Trex 700's running 710's.

But the latest endevors have been to clean up the tail and make some precision out of it. No need for boom pinning on either end now. Static is inherantly controlled now too.

Without making all the shortcut mistakes that others make like making it way too heavy and whatnot. It takes me a whole lot of time and effort to keep the weight down...unless you were a designer/machinist you'd never be able to imagine the complexity of that. Metal has a higher strength to weight so should not be heavier. The problem is, it is an opposite process from molding plastic. The cost of CNC machining grows exponentially as material is REMOVED from a billet. With plastic, cost goes up with thicker sections. That's why the myth that Aluminum is only bling. Well, one of the myths. Metal requires tighter tolerances...and allows far better precision...than plastic. So, can work for or against you depending on your level of precision...also equates to cost unfortunately. ;(

Anyway, I'm enjoying crushing the myths.

OK, the i2 grips for the Logo tail are done. Sweet too.
Direct replacement for the plastic ones. Stronger, more rigid and the bearings are under less stress as well. And, of course, no slop.

I'm also going to put them on my Trex600N to replace the Kasama ones that are on it. Will rid that setup of a ton of slop...and weight too.

No, after checking for CRM, there wasn't a need. Having the balls off center like they are helps reduce CRM. You learn something new every day.
Plus, since everything is designed pretty light weight and with a 3mm bolt head and nut, CRM was already just where it needs to be. No weights unfortunately. Too bad, I liked the weights too.

I put them on my Trex 600.

OMG, there is so much less play than the Kasama ones that were on there.

The only thing is I had to use the Mikado hub and the control links from the Mikado slider assembly.
Anybody know where I might get these links sold separately? I like this design with the offset ball links so much better than the Align setup.

Beautiful....that's perfect. Funny, I looked through all the Logo600 parts on Redyheli and I could only find the complete slider assembly.

So, if anybody would want this on a Trex 550/600, they just need to get these.

Yeah, since the Logos share so many parts it is sometimes hard finding the parts you want at ReadyHeli. Usually I just select a heli, click "View All" parts, and then use the Find In Page function of your browser to search (for example "tail"). Works great!

I need a fix.

Actually, I'm a little bummed. I meant to get a couple flights in this afternoon but by the time I came out of the shop, it was getting dark. Oh well...gotta make the swashes. Such a nice day it was too.

I know there are things I should be working on, but, this is what I want.

Will be going on my Logo600 and Trex600N soon enough.

Time to redefine "tail authority" for the bigger helis.

Default BobOD bumped off Helifreak

Sorry if this is a taboo thing to do but I wanted to let you guys know that BobOD has been bumped off HF.

My guess is that he was bumped for getting the benefits of 'advertising' without paying for a banner or whatever commercial vendors are required to do. In any case, he hadn't received any explanation as of yesterday. His presence here will be missed, especially by us i2 product owners.

I suggest you all write him at his web site contact info and encourage him to become a paid advertiser here on HF so he can continue to promote and give tech support for his excellent line of upgrades!
