Wohoo, got my UMX Habu today. Taped up the bottom and the edges (the Mig has taught me what needs reinforcing) and will maiden her tomorrow.

How did it go?

Mine went well and I had fun with it until I tried to show off in front of my girlfriend. I crashed it upside down and finally got video of it flying post-crash yesterday.

Here is the video:

Well, I crashed the first one after about 40 flights. Did a fast roll and misjudged the orientation. It wasn't inverted after all. So used to the Mig's colour scheme where red is up and white is bottom.
Got an other Habu and am selling the one with nose damage. Can't be bothered to rip these small things apart to repair, resale value is good even if crashed.

That is great that you got a new one and I don't blame you for not wanting to mess with repairing one of these small planes. It is a pain for sure!

So I haven't been able to fly much of anything for a while except my Corsair a few times lately due to my job(s) and the weather.

I snuck in a couple quick flights as the sun was going down recently and here is the video that resulted.

Enjoy!

Ouch! I think you should take the wheels off and belly land it in the grass. It flies really nice and fast w/o the gear on there too.

I'd love to take off and land on some smooth pavement sometimes though. I just don't have anyplace around big enough unless I went to a school parking lot of some other store/ or mall parking lot or something.

I have actually wanted to take off the front gear on this and my MiG, but I am not sure how to do it. It seems like I nearly snap the metal each time I try it.

Any tips?

You'll love it. Barely needs to be thrown. Watch out for the fast roll rate though, have a dual rate ready to make it roll slower. The Habu gave me lots of confidence in revere flight.

That's what I was thinking when I watched a video of the as3xtra. Its and slow and small enough I could fly it in my small yard no problem. Likely only on the calmest of days, so if I do cross over to the dark side I'll have to get something to go with it that can handle a bit of wind (a T-28 Trojan perhaps).

How do you replace the front landing gear piece that turns with the rudder?(the piece the frond gear attaches to) Seems to be buried in the foam? Is it avail to purchase by it self"? cant seem to find it,,,
