Default Ball link sizer

I hate sizing ball links. I'm wondering if it's the sizer I have. I'm using a heliproz one that was recommended by a friend.

Anyone have one that they love? Maybe I can hate this task less.

Where do you squeeze the plastic ball link?

right at the link when its on the ball....squeeze with the pliers with enough pressure to compress the link on the ball just a little bit..frees it up..might take a couple times, but I would rather do that then remove material..

Does this method deform and/or scratch the plastic ball links?

not for me..I grinded the little ridges out of the pliers you don't squeeze it that hard to deform it..try it my trex 500 links were perfect out of the bag. my g380 and oxy I had to go over after about 20 flights or so. I works really good on both ends of tail control rods. sometimes that's the source of the tail wag is tight links at both ends when the slider is really smooth.

I made my own sizer by putting a spare ball link on a tail rotor hub then scoring some diagonal lines in the ball link with an Exacto. Works better than the store bought sizer I have.

NO need to grind off the ridges on the pliers , simply cover them with a few layers of electrical or masking tape . Then remove tape to restore grip on pliers when next required for future deployment !
