Default Recommendations for a heli socket set?

What do you all recommend for handling things like nylon nuts typically found on 450-600 sized helis? I'm using a pair of small pliers now, but these don't provide the best grip.

I got some cheap turnigy hex drivers, they work fine. A couple places I need a box end wrench but not often.

If I was looking for nut drivers today I'd probably go with these. Small handles and solid reviews. Of course you can spend more and get every size, but this set has all the sizes I've ever needed for helis.

I'm a huge fan of "buy quality, or don't buy at all", but in this case, I would look on ebay for the cheapest set you can find. You don't need to apply much torque for this application, so any cheap tool will work just fine. You only need to buy quality if you are planning on really tightening hard, but since the only nuts on heli's are for attaching the blades to the blade grips, you don't need (and certainly don't want to!) use much force at all!

A 5.5mm is what you need for a 450.

A 7mm is what you need for a 550.

Something like this should be more than sufficient:

Personally, I find that a Open-End wrench works well... something like this:

I own those very same Dynamite nut drivers. I also own other sets of nut drivers that work fine, but these Dynamites with the rubber grips feel very comfortable on my hands so I used them almost exclusively. I purchased each size separately from AMain several years ago (They are currently $2.99 each). Some applications require the hard to find 6mm nut driver, so you would have to purchased that separately (Amazon, eBay, etc.). I also have a few open end metric wrenches, but they are more likely to "round out" the nuts, so I only reserve them for hard to reach nuts.

+1 for dynamite. If you ever need grip, the flat handle will allow you to torque to reasonable levels before stripping the screw.
