Looks nice, Chris!

I dig the pigtail - might have to spin one up...

So, you all are NOT using a zip tie, & just using the available relastate on the boom platform. No metal, flat square with tape on both sides. Just 3m on the AR7200 and tape it down? No worries about how much hangs off? I'd like to try this at some point.

Thanks! Yeah, the pigtail wires look nice and it's easy to do. Just wrap it tightly around a small rod.

Correct. Just clean the unit and heli with denatured alcohol (degreaser) and stick it down. More than half of the unit sits on the shelf, so I'm not worried about the "hangover".

I don't use a strap on any of my helis, even my Fusion 50 where the BeastX is mounted sideways on the side frame. Been that way for over a year and many flights.

I have to ask.... I wonder what that big ole spot WAS for in the first place on the frame?

Doesn't it look like they WERE going to put it there in the first place? Kinda like the 450x?

I mean, I know there could be a CoG issue but I assume it was NOT that far off being under to being a bit back and up top.

Again.. I claim not to be a HH design engineer.. so I am just asking. I look at that empty space and wonder myself.

There is a couple things I thought looked odd in the design myself --

A few things stuck out..

Canopy weakness (thin) - BUT the bonus is this is the best Canopy hop-ups I have seen for a heli so far other then the 130x factory wise.

Beast X placement - horrid under it..

NON- Carbon Fiber Blades from the factory (huge mistake) actually dumbed down the heli in not doing so, almost making it less of what it is or could have been. (It could have been the mini 450x kinda) -- out of the box that is.

Time to relocate my Beast X.

Hmm tried this on my first spoolup after relocating my BX and blue light on Setup F causes my heli to spin out of control on takeoff! Red light and she flies fine!

Sure is easier to adjust the bx with it located on top, dont know why i waited so long!

I'm rebuilding my 300x mostly with new parts... will put the Ar7200 on boom mount this time. Def looks easier to adjust, etc...

That probably means you at some point flipped the belt and your tail is rotating in the opposite direction. Or maybe you changed tail servos to a different brand? If it was configured per stock settings and you remount, you definitely have to change those two parameters as well as the piro optimization direction (step M)

Chris,

The stock setting for the 300X is blue for setup parameter F (reversed), also according to the manual. It must be red when the AR7200 is mounted on the tail boom. Tail is rotating ccw when viewed from the right.

Cool, thanks for the clarification. To be honest, I didn't check the color of the light when I remounted mine, I just looked at the tail slider movement and flipped the setting so it moved in the right direction!

That is correct, it rotates ccw when viewed from the tail side.

I felt like i was getting some odd flight characteristics after relocating to the boom block. I moved the bx unit enough so its not touching thr frame surrounding servos and seemes to have fixed my issues and reduced some vibes in the bx.

Yep, you should never let any gyro touch the frame. That's one of the things I did not like about the stock location. It was extremely close to touching the frame, and I think it actually did touch during hard maneuvering.

I have also repositioned my BX.

I am having problems with the heli tilting right on pitch pumps, so I'm hoping this will sort me out. Hopefully I'll get chance to test it tomorrow:

Just to re-iterate was has already been stated, I had to adjust Setup Menus F, M and N

Personally, I do not have any issues with the stock location. Plus it's a little better protected in a crash imho. Whatever works best for you though I guess.

Cheers,
TomC

Agree with Tom. I like the clean look of it as is. Il.. Probably shorten wires and add some servo wire looms.

I didn't have any issues either at first, and I wouldn't have moved it if it wasn't for the heli developing the tilting fault, which I suspect is vibe related - even though the heli 'appears' to hover vibe free.

I agree it looks tidier under the frame, but I'm not worried about that. I'm just interested in it performing properly - I also like new position to access the button etc.

May I ask, what would it matter, tilt wise flying, where your bx is? I can appreciate the easy location per say, but what would changing the location have to do with it tilting? I thought about moving mine but agree that, it's fine where it is other than hard to see/tinker part.
