Canopy 480xx

Hi,

Am I the only one that waits 2 months know for a 480xx Orange / yellow canopy..??

I am in need of one also. I crashed on Monday and messed mine up.

All I can say is that when Kyle was in Germany last, he learned from Mikado that the 480 heli, once introduced, FAR exceeded the demand that they projected. My guess is they are a little behind while they catch-up with the demand.

When i was asking the German factory they answering availability will not be before April.. for both canopy colour..

That's mind for the guy who crash at the beginning so in December nearly 4 month waiting to repair his 480 ..

April is just around the corner. Mine is still useable. It just looks bad.

I have the green yellow canopy.
But I want Orange. I Just bought it, because, I Can build him. But I have some 30 flights one it!!

I am a Mikado Fan boy, but this is sucks, and a shame...

I have an orange one at the house but it has some dings in it.... I like the green one better.

The biggest problem with the delay in canopy production was the canopy factory!

As Dave Dahl suggested, the demand for the Logo 480 far exceeded initial thinking from Germany.

ET Canopy was provided an extremely large canopy order in January to catch up with demand on kits. ET canopy unfortunately closed their doors for a few weeks for Chinese New Year, as well as factory closings due to personal reasons. Production's back up in full swing currently.

There's a lot of canopies being produced at the moment for the numerous pilots needing "spares", and Mikado USA will be happy to report back here once a clear time frame for delivery is in order!

I guess the only solution is to have some more patience. If I understand correctly you do have a canopy still, yes? So you can still fly.

Ouch, sorry to hear.

Is the canopy so badly damaged it isn't usable anymore? In worst case you could fly without a canopy, but I agree that isn't the same. Specially for oriëntations. I hope they come available soon in any case.

If the 480 canopy is the same as the 500/600 canopies, one can likely get multiple crashes out of a canopy. I've destroyed a few canopies in my day, but the Mikado canopies just seem to stay together somehow. Sure the paint cracks and chips off but the exposed white fiberglass underneath keeps them flyable. I've not had any other brand of canopies stay in one piece like these do. Its amazing. I love it :-)

To bad tf-zuid and myself are from Europe.
In any case it might be a sign that canopies are slowly becoming available again.
