Default Which servos in your XXtreme?

Sorry if this has been asked already but a quick scan and I cant find a thread on it (would have been easier if it had its own forum )

What servo's you putting in your XXtreme?

I see most are using HV's and I was originally planning on using my JR HV ones in my Srimok but now am gonna use the BLS253's I just taken out of my E7 (thats for sale btw ) and I know these can be used at 7.4v no issue. See here http://cms.robbe.com/downloads/Techn...ervos_2010.pdf

But just be interested to know what everyone gone with

Should work fine, I currently have 8717 running 8.4v, I'm normally a futaba guy but had these laying around... Even BLS451 on 7.4 will work.

I'm using BLS157's and BLS256 both HV.

Not using BEC or Reg. Just LiFi flight pack.

Cheers Craig.

MKS 787A HV for the tail, MKS 767 for the swash. (the 767's will do 30KG at 0.11sec @7.4v.. would that be enough for that stiff swash ball? haha)

Is there any reason why you couldn't use a st.andard set of JR8717's on 6v and a BLS 251??

The 8717's produce 14.5kgs of torque at 6v. What is required for the Xxtreme?

Surely it does not need HV servos but I stand to be corrected just I would imagine they will cope a lot better.

Them Savox look Good!

@ Geegar,

During prototyping, Kyle ran one of his XXtremes with 8717's @ 6V for about 30 flights. Nothing bad happened, and the machine is still capable of some pretty radical 3D using servos powered at 6V.

That said, the added voltage to the servos makes the heli feel more connected Kyle says, especially in elevator tic-tocs, which is a maneuver that really works the servos hard. But I've seen him do elevator tic-tocs on 6V too.

So it's not a "capability" question as much as it's a "how it feels" question.

For the less capable pilots out there like myself (sport pilot), 6V is working just fine.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply.

I think I will move over to a high voltage setup for this beast.

I have my eye on the BLS 156 HV for the cyclic's and 256HV for the tail. The 156's are rated 7.4v / 21 kgs and the 256 HV is a normal spec for the tail. I reckon that will be plenty

Thanks again Dave
