Good info, I am in the process of setting mine up. A little different Tracx, DS510, Stock main shaft FB and Swash with 3GX. I can't wait.

Hey guys just finished setting up my tracx head with the 3gx. I just want to give a special thanks to Rick at http://rdlohr.com/. The FBL pitch gauge leveling tool is awsome and the receiver/gyro mounting plate works great. Now i just have to get out to maiden and do some final tweeking on the 3gx. hopefully I can keep it out of the dirt.

Default PTFE Shims

If anyone wants some 15mm shims, send me a PM,
I have a nice sheet of .015" stock and a sweet 15mm punch, makes a nice disk that fits under the 500 trax grip perfectly, I'll look into a hole punch for the 3mm hole, but for now you will need to cut your own hole as close to the middle as you can.
two of these discs are .030" and per my measurement, the gap was .027"
Cheers.

Just received some shims from Skered53, The ones I received had the 3mm hole punched already. These work and fit like a glove. They are a way better fit than the ones i bought at heli direct. Not to mention the workmanship quality looks very professional. Thanks again Derek, now I dont have shims that stick out of the blade grips.

Default Tracx Head Question

I just installed one of these heads and noticed that if the bolts between the yoke and arm grips are even slightly snugged up, there is noticeable binding between the yoke and the grips. Even tightening too much by hand creates a noticeable difference. It also seems like not very much thread is engaged in the arms either. Is this normal for these heads? I want to fly the heli but am leary of relying on loctite this much to keep the bolts in place. Also, this is without the 4 small brass washers installed on the inner and outer yoke arms. I'm assuming those washers are supposed to be installed there but couldn't find anything definitive regarding their use or installation.

The small thin-pattern washers go between the bearing in the yoke, and the blade grip arm. Usually, only one is required. This is to keep the blade grip arm from touching the bearing shield and causing binding (as you describe).

The yokes should move freely in their bearings with the bolts tightened properly.
