Default Q Mini Protos FBL Servo horn ball distance

Corrado or whoever may know.

In manual it states "15mm" spacing on the servo horns, NOW thing is, is this for FBL as well or what was optimum spacing for FBL ??

My JR285mg, maximum distance spacing is 13.5mm from center. So I need to know this asap. Maybe I'll need different horns or I'll need to buy Hitech 65mg servos. In looking at next hole out that is 16.2 mm there is no way to achieve "15mm". I also looked at my Hitech horn stash, same thing around 13.5-13.6mm and next option out is 16+mm.

So please which is it for FBL???

Many thx!

Shawn

I'm running into the same quandry with D202MG's in mine. I'm going with a mini-Vbar for this heli. I'll post what the V5 software thinks about the servo throw range, if it is too long or in the 'optimal' range, when I get this set up, probably this weekend.

Shawn, one thing to consider...

I'm using JR 287s on my Mini Protos. Same size as the 285s.
None of the servo adapters fit the mounting holes on the servo, so I used the rubber and brass grommets that came with the servos. Problem is, the combo of the rubber grommets and the single mounting hole allows the servos to move around in the servo frames.

I'm going to go 5065's. They have 2 mounting holes (and don't require adapters, I think...) and the arms have holes at the required 15mm (double ones, 4th hole).

replied on other forum, made mine solid in that respect by boring out the servo hole a tad to use the "A" adaptors, good that way, still waiting for tested distances from corrado in this respect, for first trial I'll see if 13.5mm gets me there as usually in FBL you tend to go less distance to gain the resolution. 15mm I suspect is perfectly fine for Flybar though yes.

I dont know if you set yours up already or not, but on my D202's with IIRC around 12 or 13 max arm length...the Vbar was getting 11.5* collective at 100, and the 8 degree cyclic was well over 100. I'm going to put the "flybar" balls on the outer swash ring to reduce the travel with these short arms.

Yes flown it a few times at 13.5mm distance on the JR285mg seems fine, I think I will leave it.
