yep... it's a great neighborhood heli. Talked with the real estate division of the ad agency I work for today and they want to sign a deal shooting homes for use on the MLS and other home listing publications. sweet! the Voyager E is going to pay for itself many times over!
I've always done mostly video work, but with the real estate market as nuts as it is out here I may start shifting to primarily real estate still work. here's a shot I dug up from last year. Shot this with the GSR260 and Nikon Coolpix 4500 and .43X wide converter.

Shot these today. I flew the heli while my husband ran the camera. We still shot blind since we are waiting to test the downlink for interference at the flying field.
We're guessing we were up to about 100'. What do you guys think? Jeanette

Shots look good, but I would guess 50 feet tops in the ones you posted. That utility pole in the second one is probably about 30 feet, so I would guess *maybe* another 20. |

I'm happy that I got the nerve to take it up and actually do this at a job site. It was a good learning experience for me and it felt great to conquer some fears.

Thanks you guys. I have a very encouraging husband, but it is nice to hear from people who have been in my shoes. My crash with my Bergen had me doubting myself and my abilities BIG TIME. I still haven't heard back from Futaba to see if my 401 was the culprit...so, in the back of my mind on every flight with my Raptor I keep thinking, "Did I check this...did I remember to do that...???"
It just felt really good to get some good pictures. I wasn't as high as I thought, but it is a START! PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!! Hopefully, I'll have some nice campground or golf course pictures to post tomorrow. Jeanette

you need not worry one bit with that Raptor!
Fly it with confidence. As long as you've got all the major parts installed right and torqued down with loctite that Raptor will fly for hundreds of hours of service without fail.

Good to see you posting Roger. I saw a brief blurb about your lack of posting for a while, so it is good to see you back. You know I love to see your part of town. Is that last one a school? |

Thanks Dennis and Scott!
No safety floatation, I think the amount of foam I would need to float 12 lbs would be too bulky (and add another 2 lbs!). I guess I could carry a throw ring but I don't think my heli could swim to it! Hi Scott, that last one is of a jobsite I've been shooting for awhile now. It's a very modern juvenile facility that covers 21 acres. Kinda wished that money was spent on public schools though... Yeah it's been awhile. Work and a freak incident put a damper on R/C activities...I can remember hearing the words, "do you feel lucky?" when this happened...could've been my neck! |
