Here is another one from a little day trip while still on vacation.

Satellite showed a band of clouds were stuck across mid to upper mid michigan today across the whole state, and a peak out the doorwall confirmed it.

So we headed about 30 minutes north to Cadillac, and spent the day at a beach there. Sun was out there and 86 degrees. Perfect day again!

Got a few shots of the lake we were on before we left, it was weird, like the clouds were all around the outskirts of Cadillac, but perfect where we were. When we drove back to the cottage at the end of the day, it was getting cloudier on the way back, then started raining, and it was completely clouded back at our cottage. So that made it even better that we hit the road instead of sitting there with cabin fever all day.

This is lake Cadillac, you can see the blue skies over the lake where we were, and then the coulds all around the outside of the lake. I think they came out pretty good.

shutter priority: 1/1000
Aperture: f7.1

Hi Hyde,

I don't how the picture views on your monitor, but the attached color profile does not work when I view it in my internet browser. The image looks a lot darker (shadows) than when viewed in Photoshop. Attached is the file with the color profile removed from the image

Let me know how this looks on your monitor.

hmm - it looks a little washed out due to bumping up the 'Shadow Amount'. i tried that but noticed that the noise worsened. i could counter by 'Despeckling' but then i am just chasing my tail... i had the 'ColorMatch RGB' profile on. perhaps i should start saving them without a CP on. is that what you guys do?

Hi Hyde,

The shadows are not altered in that picture. All I did was open it in Photoshop, discard the colorprofile and save it. Oh, I did ad a bit red in the curves.

I try to keep away from profiles as much as possible with webimages. Colorprofiles are mostly coupled to a specific computer(monitor) and not to the image.

Got this today shooting a local community baseball park. Had no choice but start shooting about 3pm in bright sun... 102 degrees... Man it was hot! Turns out they hadn't been watering much and had too many dead patches... Coming back in a week.

EDIT - Google Maps view

Hey Scott... Love those beautiful blue water pics. Wish we had some of that
Here's one from my neck of the woods. That little black dot at top right is a tire. We used to swim here 20 years ago.
A nice pale creamy brown........

Here's my shot for today.

New bearings installed in my OS 50 Hyper and performance is getting better.

I ordered all the components today to stretch my Raptor. Now I'll feel a bit more comfortable.

This is in Marysville, CA by the river. I want to go back and re-shoot after I stretch my Raptor and get more comfy.

found this shot while going through old pics today. not an RC AP but a fun one anyhow. a buddy and I took a few bags of flour and a roll of toilet paper up in my 152 a while back... went out over the desert and had a little fun. We dropped the flour from an opened door and tried to hit an old rusted out water tank.

after we tossed out all 4 bags after missing every time we climbed up to about 8,000' and tossed out the roll of TP. we immediately nosed over and banked hard to come around and strike the TP. we missed on the first two passes but nailed it ont he 3rd. Here we are right before hitting it.

4 bags of flour and a roll of TP? With 2 people you couldn't have had more than 3 gallons of fuel with that load and still been under gross.

lol! yes it was close.. had they been 50lb bags of flour we'd have taken every bit of runway we had just to get off.

the 152 I had was called a "SparrowHawk" it had a 125hp engine and Hornier wing tips. the neatest little STOL plane.

There's a 160hp C-152 for sale on the field where I keep my Cheetah. Every time I drive by it I stop to see if the sign in the windshield has a lower price. I want that plane bad. take-off in about 300' and climb out at 1400'/min
