I have some batteries on order being shipped by registered mail, not EMS. My tracking number also starts with RP and ends in CH and the tracking works just fine here:

1) Copy the number from HK site.
2) Go to the carrier's site (HK often provides a link).
3) Paste in the number and click the appropriate thing on the carrier site.

If you get "sorting" or "turned over to airline" or whatever, you are 4 days to 2 weeks (or longer if customs in your country holds it) from getting your package.

If you get "unknown number", then HK has assigned the number from a pre-assigned range (probably by putting a physical form on your package), but that package HAS NOT YET arrived at the carrier and been keyed/scanned into their system. This means HK's boxed it, but haven't given it to the carrier yet. For example: If they are shipping via Singapore post, they have to get the box (with that pre-assigned number on the form) from their warehouse in HongKong to Singapore to give it to the carrier. I have no idea how they do this... boat? train? but it takes a while.

Are there any bridges connecting Singapore to the mainland? My guess would be by boat, although it would probably be a fairly quick ride. I have a package myself currently making its way toward Singapore. It's not in Speedpost's system yet.

>Not sure what means for sure. My GF has something on the way and wants to know when it be here she orded it 2 weeks ago I think.

My previous order on May 25th from HK departed from Singapore on June 2nd. It then showed up in Zurich Switzerland on June 8th. It left Switzerland the same day, and arrived in Montreal on June 15th. It then took another 2 days to get to Ontario, so I got it on the 17th.

If HobbyKing used SwissPost for your package, your tracking number won't work at the Hong Kong post website.

Like lanman said, it is going to depend on which shipper they used. The package I received earlier this week was shipped using HongKong Post and arrived here in the US by USPS.

I was pretty amazed that it only took 2 days to receive my package in New Mexico coming from HongKong.

In my experience, I'd say give it another day or two. I suspect they truck the shipments to Singapore, which is a pretty fair distance. Once they get to Singapore, the rest of the trip is usually fairly quick.

The first two orders I place from HK were a breeze. In 48 hours tracking info was posted on the Hong Kong post website telling me where it was i.e. enroute to U.S., passing customs. etc... the last two orders were shipped one from the US warehouse with USPS tracking -didnt work- the other with Honk Kong post tracking- didnt work-...Coincidentally both packages arrived at the same time from my mail carrier..though they were ordered on seperate days. I think with opening of various warehouses they have had some shipping glitches.

I've had about 50 orders from HK and I always paste the tracking number into USPS - sure since the battery / customs clamp down it takes a few days to get into the system, USPS has always provided a clearer picture of where the package acutally is than SpeedPost or Hong Kong PO's website...

I currently have an order with EMS. It took 72hrs for tracking to be activated, one day to get from HongKong to Chicago (final destination is TX).
Right now is at customs clearence...
