Well, I gave in once again.....
i ordered a Walkera HM V400D02 2.4Ghz Flybarless Series RTF and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with it (good-bad-etc) ? i couldn't find any parts anywhere in the states but ordered a bunch of parts from China. it's supposed to be here late this week and the parts a few days later. I've spent so much money on Blade CP, CP-PRO and CP-PRO-2, SR and Blade-400's that a few more $$ can't hurt otter |

well
ups pulled in with the Walkera HM V400D02 i took a couple of pics while unpackaging first impression: great lookin' heli for $149 read the manuals while battery topped off manuals just as well be in Greek make very little sense anyhow, heli and controller bound instantly verified servo directions and travel looked for loose fasteners, there were none it's too big for me to feel comfortable doing it's maiden inside so i took it outside in the yard winds 5-15. yea laid down a dog mat on the grass and cautiously lifted off it just hovered like a cx2, wait no, it was much more stable than any cx2 i ever flew it just sat there winds gust from every direction, takes minimal stick hovered for about 3 minutes and said hey, fly it like you stole it , so i took it on up to 15' and flew a simple pattern or 3 this heli loves wind! anyhow landed and had to get back to work battery is charging as we speak when i finish work will fly again if i can get someone to vid will upload if this thing keeps working like it does now i will be one happy camper ! it flys so much better than my blade 400 that there is no comparison. i cannot believe it is a cp heli. enough ranting, otter ![]() ![]() |

flew another battery after work
can't wait for my parts order and extra batterys to get here wind was 5-10 , gusty and variable the Walkera HM V400D02 doesn't care it is solid as a rock in hover , flying figure eights or just flying the pattern. i fly 3d slabs but am a simple sport flyer with helis so no real craziness will be done by me. i havent adjusted the gyro or anthing. i havent even touched a trim button ! out of the box, perfect trim, blade tracking spot on also. after this last flight i went over the heli again. no loose fasteners. neither motor runs hot. just slightly warm to the touch. ran the last battery 7 minutes and still had power for a controlled landing. anyhow, first day: impressed otter |

yes they are. but hey, they are dirt cheap and both could be changed out in 5 minutes if you had to.
my motors are only warm to the touch after a 7 minute flight. i'm logging flights to see how long they last gonna fly another battery (the only one i have to fit it) in the am otter |

Looks like it uses the old 60#B stacked metal frame? If so, just be very careful to inspect it after any hard landings... they tend to bend a very slight amount and it throws everything out of wack!
Is the one-way a separate unit or is it part of the main gear? |

i've been checking all fasteners after each flight and everything has stayed tight
the motors still are only warm after 7 minutes, we'll see how long they last i have no idea what a "one way" is remember, i'm a slab pilot pardon my ignorance have been flying helis 3 years no 3d, just sport flying otter |

No probs... the one-way is the one-way bearing in the main gear that enables the blades to spin without the main gear turning... it only works when the blades are spinning clockwise, hence the name "one-way".

my main gear and rotor appear to be solidly connected i cannot turn the rotor either direction without the main gear turning have held the main gear and turned and it appears solid all i see are upper and lower support bearings otter |

I placed my order today, should be here in 3-4 day----If the cosmetics mimic the performance, I will be happy! A very nice looking Heli!
Was going to order a 450D01 but problems with Manufacturing has delayed release of this model! I agree, a steal at 149.00 Sweet deal, I appreciate your comparison with the Blade 400, I would rather tear this puppy up vs. T-Rex-450 Pro ![]() I will also let you all know what I thinkwhen she arrives! Best, Bob |

flew several batterys today as quick as they would charge
after last flight was tinkering with the controller and decided to see what low rate movement looked like at the cyclic. heard a grinding sound (very familiar of course) and found the right rear servo is stripped. no crashes, no hard landings, just stripped. of course we know cheap servos do strip the odd thing was, the heli still flew the pattern just fine gonna see if i have a servo that will work otter |
