Raptor 90 Flybarless Head Conversions

Looking for any and all suggestions for FBL conv for my Rappy 90. Please post pics . I was wanting to go with the New Futaba control. Please advise on your available pitch range. THANKS ALL IN ADVANCE !!!!!

I just converted my 90 se to fbl by using align 3g sys with align fbl head & got more headspeed out of it & flies smoother & performs a lot better

Thanks for your reply. Did the head and everything just bolt right up? what if any modifications did you have to perform? Can you post pics please of your set up? Thanks again..

Thunder Tiger is coming with a new FBL head for the 90SE and 3D. Dont know any release date. But will defiantly get one of those looks very good.

It was shown at the toy fair in germany. I know some TT pilots Are testing them as we speak. I hope for a quick release going FBL with my second Raptor as well

G-force makes one too. I don't have that one but it appears to be just a shortened version of their tuner head which I do have... Extremely rugged.

I have it on one of my 90 with Beastx and love it. But Looking forward to a original TT FBL head to convert the last one and a CGY-750

Im so tempted to try a Trex 700 head but Im sure there is alot of modification that would be needed. Im not up for that. Ive been looking at the Tuner setup. How was this thing to set up? I too am waiting for the CGY 750 but I heard from a reliable source today that the Spectrum compatibility is a no go.... Sooo That leaves V Bar option for me. I guess I really want to know about how was the mechanical part of the head and arms to set up? I dont suppose G-force supplies any instructions. I do know that you have to have the TT Metal grips though.

You could also use the KDE head for the 700. It would bolt right on. You would not use the upper bolts. Just the center and the lower clamping bolts. This head uses standard align head parts. Mixing arms bolt directally to head block. Phasing will be spot on.

Also as far as using a stock fbl 700 head, No mod needed. You just cant use the upper bolts unless you drill and tap your main shaft. The stock TT head only use the 1 bolt anyways.

There are plenty of choices out there.

does any body know what FBL Head would work on a Raptor 90 ? Maybe a T-rex 700 FBL head ??

Wanna upgrade this year to FBL but dont have big budget, probably go with BeastX

Have been utilising the G-Force Raptor 90 FBL conversion on my VMAX equipped Rappy 90 for about a year now.

Works very well - FBL duties are handled by a VBAR controller.

So.... did those linkage rods come with? Did you change the mixing? Ive seen people change to ccpm . Looks nice!

When i see these kind of pictures i want to go and get a new camera the gforce head does not look as good with my iphone camera

Can i ask witch camera you are using? I am not going to blow my E720 budget on it but i am a bit curious

Hi Guys,

The linkage rods are Lunsford Racing titanium turnbuckles which are used by RC cars. I purchased mine from A-Main Hobbies in the US.

The rod ends use QuickUK ball links - these are excellent. Purchased these directly from QuickUK.

Photos were shot with my Sony A700 DSLR equipped with a Minolta 100mm f2.8 dedicated macro lens. This lens is extremely sharp.

You thnk that head would fit a raptor 90 ? Would have to also get the main shaft I guess

No they make a head specially for the Raptor 90. so no new main shaft

Asked TomR about it yesterday and he hoped it would be released before or this summer

TomR have one fitted to his Raptor 90 SE.

Have no problems with the old plastic one but just for the looks
