Well again this is what I have seen but actually it doesnt make sense! 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 does but this is odd.... If someone with a 601 or 611 that has a display and SHOWS the value in relation to value in the radio could help we would HAVE THE FACTS JACK....
Maybe ask someone on the forums what they see... the Trex600 forum might be a good place since most there use a 611. Or ask in the general forum. So we should really have the fact before telling someone what to do or state your not sure in the video.... Bob

Excellent video and information. one small suggestion is to set your video camera to manual focus. that will prevent the ocassional in and out of focus. Again, you have done a great job. Version 2 is a big step forward. keep up the great work.

Hey Jermo,
Great Job, I really enjoyed and learned a lot from your video (especially the shortcut menu) One suggestion regarding the input select screen. You mention in the video that you can select either Aux2 or Gear to serve as your gyro control channel. This is true only for folks that are using the AR7000. If you are using a AR6000 or AR6100, you have to use Gear (as they don't have an Aux2 channel) Most folks could probably figure that out, but I think it would be helpful just to mention it in the video. Again, Great Job, Very impressive first video. ![]()

Ty Sir, awesum suggestion...
Just as a note: It's too windy for me to fly but I just had to do it anyway. At a setting of 62% on the Function Mode/Gyro Sens/0: setting the tail held in the wind 100%. It didn't weather vane at all. hehe...nearly lost the bird but ran two tests regardless. The tail is so solid I only had to worry about compensating for the wind..ie altitude and positiong (wind kept making me climb/dive and moving the heli back...so I had to add pitch/throttle and forward collective to get back to the yard.. Jermo

PB how do you see that?, that pretty much confirms the correct setting for 0: would be 64 to 66 or so to achieve 32% gain.

I'm not sure what you mean? When I set the DX7 at 82 % my screen on the 601 says G48a 5.8. When I click the DX7 Gyro increase/decrease the 601 changes by 2 digits at a time. Is that what you mean

Paul, first you should NEVER run a 601 or 611 at that high a gain! You will burn up your servo. 37% MAX man.....
If you could turn down your DX7 gain until the 6o1 display shows 36% and tell us what the radio says. Bob

I just did it as a test. Since the DX7 moves the 601 at 2 points at a time I can get 35 on the 601 at 74% on the DX7 or 37 on the 601 at 75% on the DX7

will you do me a favor? set 64 and 66 on the DX7 and tell me what your GY401 display shows as the gain. I love that display.. I'll start redoing the gyro section asap. I just looked at the display for your image and I'm confused. at 1:2 DX7 to Gy401 a setting of 74% would be 24x2 or a gain of 48. The display shows 35. Regardless 74% is too high. Jermo

I'm not familiar with that radio but if the menu's are the same then you can. There is an error in the video. To get 32% gain in Heading Hold mode use 66% for the 0: setting and the 1: setting.

OK then 1 step on the DX7 is 2 on the signal to the gyro. but if that is true then 60 on the DX7 should be 20 on the gyro.
e.g. 50 being 0 gain thus should be 50=0 so (60-50)*2=20. 70 on the DX7 should be 70-50*2=40... why doesnt that happen? Is my math wrong some how? Let look at this another way. 50=0 gain. Every step = 2 gain right So let look at 50 as 0 and just use 0 thus 60 in the radio is 10 right? but 2 steps should read 20. 70 in the radio = 20 right? but 2 steps should be 40... This is not making sense to me how the JR radios or DX7 (it's a JR) allows you to know how much gain your are actually giving the gyro... It appears NOT to be linear! Bob

At 64% on the DX7 I get 19 on the GY601
At 66% on the DX7 I get 22 on the GY601 Might also help: To get zero on the 601 (before it starts counting backwards) the DX7 is at 52% Paul :glasses2:

Hmmm THAT leads me to believe it is 1.5 steps not 2.
What does the gyro read at 70 on the DX7 please? Paul you are using the gyro menu and AUX 2 not the end points on channel 5? Bob

I'm using the Gyro menu on the Gear channel on the DX7. I'm not touching the GY601. The reading at 70% on the DX7 is 29 on the GY601

Yep... forgiving a .5% then the DX7 is stepping at 1.5 on the gyro signal
70-50=20*1.5=30 (you got 29 which is close enough) Paul... one other test please. WHAT is the end points of your GEAR channel? If 100% then it is 1.5. If more than that might effect the math. Also do me a favor... change the gear channel to end points of 150 (max on the DX as I recall) and see if that changes how the gyro menu works. Thanks for helping us out on this! Bob
