Default New DX7S or DX8

After reading all the issues people have had with the DX8 I wonder if anyone has any positive or negative experience with the new Spektrum DX7S. I am mainly interested in the software bugs and pot issues the DX8 has been so infamous for. Does the DX7S have a better quality pots. Have the bugs been fixed????

I've just pull the trigger on a new DX8 after the seller confirmed that it has the latest firmware update, and reading a good few sources indicating that folks are now happy since the corrective measures were implemented.

I have the DX7, and what put me off the DX7S was the problems reported that it could not connect directly to the Phoenix SIM.

Just a note, make sure you check Spektrum's website for all recalls in case that one needs to be sent in.

To the OP, I just got mine back from Horizon for the recall, if you do buy the DX8, rather it is brand new or not, be sure to check the PID number first just in case.

If the DX7S came with a backlight and 30 model, maybe even 20, I would consider it. Stock backlight, 30 model memory and SD card were the final dealbreakers for me. But my flying budget, although interested in smaller acft, is sorta limitless. Some of us just got lucky. I lost most the use of one hand, but there was a monetary compensation that lets me shop the lhs and the internet weekly.
