the MA site seems focused on larger birds, looking for a site where I can see the 450 parts only, ie without having to whip out the listing of part numbers.
I'm sure they will be on the receiving end of my PP account, just wondering if who else has these parts.

Tower Hobbies still has parts for the Furion 450. Nice thing is the pics show up in the listing. Great Planes (Tower Hobbies) was the distributor of this kit, before MA was sold to FlyCo. If you see parts discontinued, it is because they are out of stock and not ordering any more.

The stock tail blades work fine, and can even take some abuse without breaking like CF Tail Rotor blades would.

I am in the process of converting to flybarless so I have a complete head for sale. No crashes, really only about 5 flights. It will need the "Jesus" bolt because it is stripped on the hex side. I figure $100.00 is pretty fair. I think I have seen them for 175.
Sorry if I jacked your thread a little bit. I'll be listing it on the f/s section too.

Am I missing something here, or is the MA 450 out of production at the moment?

I wouldn't say out of production. There are kits & parts in stock at MA. It's just now that 450's seem to be less and less in the market. Almost like a fad, now with the 500's and 600's out there.

I was in my LHS drooling over the MA 450 on Sunday and am really keen on flashing a card to make it mine. He's got a wall of spares for it and a puddle of drool on the floor.
However, if its about to go the way of the Outrage 550, then I'll save my card the excercise. I like to be able to go to my LHS and get spares quickly, I don't handle waiting well. |

I just got a Furion 6, and while going through the manual was amazed by how similar the F450 is to the F6. So you begin to think, that we are getting a really good deal on the F450. However I am guessing that there isn't much money in the 450 size for MA. The cost of a 450 style heli is being really driven down by Align, and also by the Align Clones.
However I hope that the F450 hangs in there. I really like that size for convenience and overall cost of repair. I am a little numb as I count up the spare costs for the F6! A machine that I don't want to use as my first try for any maneuver!First Sim or mCPx, then the TRex250, F450, then F6! Sounds like a nice progressive plan to me! |
