I understand its benefits, but I'm old school,........ never lose contact with real friends,....... use a hand shake, or a phone call. (I don't want to get off topic).

I agree, nothing beats human contact. But to me FB is just another tool and it has it's benefits if you use it to suit your needs. Not much different than forums IMHO.

Old school but uses an online forum??
I don't disagree with keeping in touch via phone and meeting irl. However I can't share pictures and video of my young family will all of my extended family instantly and at their convenience over the phone. It doesn't hurt my feelings if you choose not to use FB. But to say people who do have no life or are losers is offensive. |

To me, its just "unpersonal" thats all. I have alot of friends and most use FB, and most of these people have tons of cyber friends they don't even know, thats what I am reffering to. Also, it is not like the forums, we are all here in the heli community to help each other with heli related advise, and yes, some true friendships are made, but I myself mainly browse here for help, and not to chat about personal matters.

I know what you mean Danny but its really simple to hide that crap. Even simpler to just remove those people or not add them in the first place.
There's nothing wrong with using your account just to stay up to date with vendors and not get sucked into the rest of the junk.
